The Doctor took the paper and read it, typing in some things in the computer. He stared at the screen and then turned back, "Miss ah... Tafante, it appears you are a caucasian woman with two children, married to Esteban Tafante. I suggest you get a better disguise next time. I'd like to know who you actually are." he said in that iron tone of his. "And ah-- the incident..." he paused, "Of course I'll be asking Neil what went on as well, but he doesn't volunteer information easily. And I'd like to piece together what he's been doing. The nurses all know him here, because he comes so often, and any information we can get about his attackers will be useful."
Doctor Heinz rubbed his temples, realizing he only had a short amount of time to find out everything he could from this woman, before Neil came back and made things difficult. "We are merely trying to make things as easy as possible for Neil, and find out who keeps trying to kill him. But he makes things very difficult by keeping silent. He doesn't want help facing these people, and we want to help him. I am quite sure you know him well, because I've noticed he doesn't let anybody else but the people he's helped and his closest friends to the hospital, so you had best start talking."

Jamie watched as he typed into his computer. He corrected her and a sly look came into her eyes. She didn't like being revealed. The looked was gone and she sat looking slightly confused, smiling at him as he went down a list of things. She was angry in her mind. DONT F.UCKING HOLD ME HERE AND INTEROGATE ME YOU TWIT! SAVE NEIL'S LIFE! I SWEAR TO GOD IF HE DIES I WILL KILL YOU BEFORE I LOOK FOR HIS MURDERER... Oh wait... his murderer is dead... I WILL TOTALLY KILL YOU, YOU P.RICK!!! But she kept a cool exterior, sticking with her identity.
"Well obviously I am not white and I am not married and there are people in the world with the same last name I'm afraid. I really dont know this man, he was unconscious by the side of the road and that is all I can tell you. He started coming around again when I helped him up but as you can see, I am but a simple woman and I really must be on my way."
She gave an apologetic shrug, standing and giving him a nod of her head as she turned to the door, thinking of getting out of here and going home to wait for Neil. Or maybe she would come back disguised as someone else who knows him. She could do that. She didn't wnat to leave his side. She could come back and watch over him. Her mind reminded her of the extent of her power. She remembered long ago at Magikus when she could only do human forms, but as she got older she learned animal shapes to. She could try and slip in as a white cat. Non conspicuous, she could make it, she was fast, and she could change. Or she could pretend to be a doctor her, white coat wasn't a problem to get, people did it all the time in movies...

Dr. Heinz didn't get a chance to say anything because there was a commotion coming from the outside, with crashes and screams and about four people chasing one rather tall black person. You could hear the muffled curses through the door... "-- The F.UCK are you trying to DO to me?! YOU PROMISED You got rid of him and now you're trying to F.UCKING drug me!! WHO PAYED YOU OFF YOU B.ASTARDS!?" The noise got steadily louder as the shape approached the door and slammed it open, looking in with furious blue eyes past Jamie at the Doctor.
"You." He had never sounded angrier, or looked more frightening than he did right then. In the next split second there was the loud defeaning sound of thunder as a lightning bolt crashed through the celing and lit the desk on fire. The Doctor rematerialized behind Neil and Neil whirled around, "WHO--" He pointed and a lightning bolt shot out of his figners, "KEEPS--" another bolt of lighting, "HIRING YOU!? YOU BLOODY B.ASTARD I WILL NOT BE KILLED!!"
Neil had been fully healed as soon as he'd been taken into the back room, where they had proceeded to remove the shards of glass from his face, and then tried to drug him. When he asked them whose orders they were under he'd ah...started a scene. Dr. Heinz looked perfectly calm next to the angry black man, and kept disappearing in puffs of black smoke, and reappearing in different places, smiling placidly as Neil kept trying to kill you. "This is unnecessary, my boy. Really. You're damaging things. And you've got a friend here. We'll do this later, shall we?"
Neil's fists were shaking and his eyes flicked around the room for a moment. The nurses were cowering behind desks, sobbing with terror, doctors were running here and there, and he could hear the police sirens outside. "Damn you. Let's go, Z." he snapped at Jamie, grabbing her wrist and holding it too tightly in his anger. He transported them out there in another flash of lightning, and they arrived at the other end of the bay from where he'd been originally found.
Neil let Jamie go as soon as they got there and stormed off to a rock that was above the salt water. The anger coursing through his veins was unimaginable, and the weather was reacting accordingly. They called them freak hurricanes. Neil, however, called them. It began to rain, and then hail, and thunder cracked from the sky, starting fires and putting them out as soon as the rain pounded down on it. The waves became behemoths, towering over them and crashing down furiously. His energy expended, Neil jumped of the rock, into the salt water, and to another rock on dry land. He didn't say anything to Jamie, but glancd at her a few times a little guiltily.

Jamie watched as suddenly there was a comotion and she opened he door, Neil seeing the doctor and trying to send bolts of lightning at him. There was yelling, Jamie wathcing stunned, hoping she was out of the way. But Neil wouldn't hit her with it, he would be careful. She thought this as static errupted nearby, where the doctor had stood. The doctor was... transporting around the room, seeming undisturbed by Neil attacking him. She let her eyes flash a moment, but she stayed the same, no reason letting her cover go to waste. He grabbed her and in another flahs they were at the beach again. Jamie looked around, finally they were safe. Well... safer... she supposed. Her hair grew long and silky brown, skin changing in a sweet way that reminded one of creamer added to coffee and slowly swirled in. The vanilla coloring of her mixed with the chocolate till her skin was all a light shade of caramel, tanned skin glowing with a silky luster. Her lips deflated slightly, going to a smaller but still a pouty pink tone. Freckels scattered themselves lightly over her skin, eyes turning from a dark almost black brown to a smooth blue that mirrored the ocean. She shrank just an inch, cracking her finger and shoulders in this new body. Ahhh, she felt better.
Neil was walking off, raging and looking totally pissed. The weather changed, the sky clouding over and rain starting. She looked up as the rain poured down around her. She smiled into it, letting it wash her. She loved it. She held out her arms, letting the rain kiss her newly sweet body, the water soaking her and running off her hair. She let the peaceful expression stay on her face, for a while ignoring the guilty glances of Neil. Her blue eyes opened to watch him as hair started bouncing off her. Lightning crashed and started flames before they died away under the torrents of rain and ice. The waves turned savage and Jamie watched impassizely. She smiled as he tossed her another guilty look.
She walked to him slowly, making it to him and pressing her cool wet skin to him, letting herself lean against him chest and look up into his eyes. She smile pleasantly, eyes teasing and laughing at him.
"Neil... It's alright... really. I'm okay. You're okay. We're fine. You can relax now..."
She let her hands slip around his neck, grinning lazily as she remembered those first days she'd met him. Back when she had cheated of her boyfriend. She was such a skank whenever she thought about it. She placed a kiss placidly on his lips, hoping he would calm down. She rain kissed along his chin, to his throat, along his collar bone, tickling him with them. She looked back up into his eyes, her own blue orbs soft and relaxing.
"It's gonna be okay Neil."

Why was she so calm all the time? Didn't she realize the danger he'd put her in? He should have realized-- But he'd been to drained... he told himself not to blame himself, but it was too late. Your fault... Why was he only this emotional around Jay bird? He pictured her then, flying in this storm and shut his eyes, feeling his body shudder as he imagined her body thrown by the strong winds he was sending.
She brought him back, laying her head against his chest and murmuring words that didn't seem to mean much. Her hand coiled around his neck and she drew his lips to hers. Neil was glad it was raining. His own eyes looked back into her soft ones, but his were tempestuous, alive, crackling. "Saying it wont make it true, Jamie." he told her softly, his fingers going down her cheek softly and then scampering away.
With Jamie...lately it had been different. Lately she wasn't just another woman. And that was more dangerous than she knew. He felt his veins burn uncomfortably inside his skin as Neil glanced at her face again. She wore the skin of so many different women but she was always Jamie. It amazed Neil. He only wore one skin, but he could never seem to keep himself together, despite apperances. Neil felt like...no, Neil was too different people on the inside. He just kept one of them blocked out of his mind. His blue eyes shifted like the unrestful sea and he leaned forward suddenly to kiss her.
It was different. It was soft. A kiss for the sake of a kiss, instead of a prelude to getting into a girls pants. It was a dedication to her. He drew himself away slowly, and his eyes flicked back and forth between hers, alive with energy that was gone in the next blink of an eye. Don't lead her on. Well it's a bit late for that. Further. Don't lead her on further. "Let's go. I'm not in the mood to be attacked again." he said, getting up and stretching, back to his regular self.

Jamie let him tell her. Saying it wont change anything. She just watched him, eyes calm and warm, trying with all her might to will him into loving her. Of course that was impossible. Again she told herself as she had told herself since the first time they met, he was not a man to tie down. He was his own person, he did what he wanted when he wanted and nothing else. She would not be the weight to pull him down. She would not be the one to drown him in her waves of need and lonelyness. She had to stay strong; for him. She watched his eyes, energy behind them as he suddenly bent in, landing a soft fragrant kiss on her. She let it wash over her like the waves, so sweet and delicate, as if she were precious. But then he was pulling away, too soon. She wnated to grab him and kiss him with a hard desperation, make him hers and not some other woman's. She wanted to scream at him that she was in love with him, had been desperately in love with him since they first met, but she bottled all this inside, checking her self restraint and nodding. They should go, they were out in the open.
"Maybe saying it wont make a difference, but then what will? I was always told Hope made the world go round and if you don't have that, what have you got?"
She let her arms untangle from his neck, shuffling back a little and watching him intently, a strange unexplainable expression on her face, as if she were contemplating him. Thinking over him and what he said or what she said. She smiled at him then, such a blinding flash of hope in the rain and darkness of the sky that it seemed she could light the world anew without the sun. She skipped forward, grabbing his arm and laughing, a chiming thing that seemed to grab the happiness inside you and pull at it till you had to smile. Not many could resist Jamie's laugh, if you didn't laugh with it you had to at least smile. She danced him around, holding onto his arm.
"Then lets go Wandermage..."
She smiled at him, letting her eyes shimmer with joy. At least he was alright. He was alive, and thats what made her smile.

"Nothing makes a difference in our fates, Jamie. Not if you've got it layed out for you. You luckily don't. I'd use that to your advantage." He didn't mention himself, or answer her second question out loud. We've got each other. We've got the knowledge that other people have choices. We've got the ability to help them make the right ones. To guide them. We've got redemption. She was looking at him with such a hopeful expression that it made him smile, and as she danced ahead he ran after her grabbing her stomach and tickling her.
"Let's go. Don't tell the kids about what happened, eh?" he told her, his eyes twinkling as he kissed her cheek. They were gone in the next five seconds, as if they'd never been there. And the storm, without the weather mage to guide it, feebly roared its last protests, and died away, leaving the beach calm and beautiful.

Jamie watched as he smiled in unison with her. She skipepd away and he ran after her tickling her and making her shriek with laughter before she was looking up into his eyes as he told her not to tell the kids. She was utterly soaked and she didn't mind, her eyes reflecting the gray paling fury of the sky with a soft delicate gray that mixed with the blue. She nodded. Of course she wouldn't tell the kids. She didn't want them to think about how their daddy could die any day, anywhere.
"I wont breath a word..."
She grinned, making a cross over her heart to prove the strength of her promise. She let him take them away and as the sky cleared there and she reappeared with him in a different place she secretly hoped it would always be that way. Wherever he went she would be by his side. To the ends of the earth...
