Grench cried through the whole speech. She was hiding her face in her pillow and listneing to him and crying and wondering, like him, what the heck was going on. And then he asked her to hit him, and she wanted to. For making her feel like a jerk. Like it was all her fault. And she knew that it wasn't! "STOP YELLING AT ME!" she screamed, "I'm NOT going to HIT you! Focking go hit yourself if you want to be hit! I don't like hitting you, okay?! I don't like hurting you!" She burried her face in her pillow again. "That's the problem. You're such a f**k**g masochist. You love to get hurt, obviously. That's why you--" she paused, sudden enlightenment had hit her.
"...You hang out with me because I hurt you." she said in a very tiny, childlike voice. She looked horrified. "G--get out! I-- no! Go away! I'm not going to hurt you anymore by b-being around you! Just get the hell away from me, okay? Okay?!" Her gaze was intense, and pained. Masochist! Didn't he know that anybody she cared about got hurt?! Shouldn't she have known?! And of course, she'd ignored her common sense and continued to hang out with him! It-- it was all making sense. "Just go before I hurt you any more." she hissed, sticking her face in her pillow again so she didn't have to see him leave her. So she could pretend he was still there. I'm glad he's going. Really.

((XD for some reason I want him to sit on the ceiling XD rofl))
Loki listened, feeling shocked when she said he was a masochist. WHAT?!? Okay. He put his fingers to his forehead, thinking this out. He went from being a flirt to being a jerk to being stupid and then he was a bastard or something... now he was a masochist. Great. No no, really. This was awesome. Absolutely insane. Really. Go away before she hurt him more. And she wasn't going to hit him. He could hit himself though. He wondered if he should tell her. She'd be very angry with him. And he was an idiot for saying anything. He watched her stick her face back in her pillow and thought, watching her, feeling that little flopping pain in his chest as she shook. Fuuuuuuuck. He had to tell her. He stood there in the silence that followed. This was going to end badly. He had a few options. He could give in and loose the bet and keep flirting with her. But she would think he gave up on her. He could leave, but he was fairly sure she would feel hurt and think he gave up on her. He could kiss her, or try to kiss her, but he was pretty sure she would say he really WAS just trying to get in her pants and he wouldn't try for her, which he WAS trying for her. He knelt, resting his arms and the side of her bed and resting his chin on his arms, his dark eyes watching her. He sighed, putting his forehead down on his arms and thinking. He sat down, back to the bed and stared across the room at the wall. What should he say? He knew he'd have to say something...
"Grench... I'm not a masochist... I just... I dunno... What am I supposed to say? I've said everything I can think of to win you over and nothing. I stop flirting with anyone else, nothing. I try to hide away from those damn fairy women and you seem to think it means... I don't even know what you think it meant! I'm not yelling at you Grench. But I'm not going to leave you. You'll have to kick me out yourself and then I'll only sit outside your door. I'm not going anywhere till you explain to me whats going on... and... Ummm...Yesterday... ... ...
...
...
I.... I kissed you..."
He felt his face getting hot. It's not like kisses meant anything these days, but he felt so horrible, like he'd stolen it form her like a monster or something! He'd done it slow and given her time to fight back, but could she fight back? He felt terrible for it now. Before she could possibly hit him and stort throwing things at him he said something else.
"Does that mean I lost the bet? Cause i asked you what flirting was and you said it was anything I did to get in your pants! And I said 'Well what if my goal wasn't to get in your pants then?' and I kissed you and I didn't really think too much and stuff but I really wasn't going to sleep with you and I know you wouldn't have wanted to and I would have done it to a girl who didn't want to but you said you liked me and I took the sand to the Queens room and I dunno what came over me and you were so cute and tired and it just sort of happened..."
The whole confession came out in a sort of rush and he sat looking down at his feet, blushing and feeling angry with himself for doing something so stupid again and wondering if she was going to kick him out now. He'd only sit outside the door like he'd said. She couldn't get rid of him forever. So, brows furrowed and dark eyes looking sulky and angry with himself he waited, staring at the ground and sitting against the side of her bed. He was ready for a smack to the back of the head...Maybe he was a masochist?

He didn't leave. It only made her want to cry harder because now she felt like he cared. And she felt like he didn't deserve it. And then he was quiet. "I...I Kissed you." Grench froze with her face in the pillow and slowly lowered it. "...What?" she asked with a raw voice. She let him talk but she wasn't really listening because she felt dazed. Why didn't she remember something like that?! There was just no way... "Look-- Loki it's okay. You didn't kiss me." she assured him. "I would have remembered it. Don't worry-- you probably just dreamed it." She sounded completely sure of herself, and smiled at him. That was nice. That he'd dreamt of her. Of kissing her. And he said it wasn't sexual.
Awww. "If I'd kissed you I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have left me alone afterwards. My kisses are dangerous." she winked at him and then felt guilty. Like she was egging him on to flirting with her. "Sorry." she said quickly, "I don't want to tempt you." Grench sniffed and wiped the wetness off her face with her sleeve. "C'mon...you've only got one more week to go and you'll find out my secret name!" she smiled at him again, glad she was able to do it without losing her head. Yeah. The dreaming about kissing thing had kind of cheered her up.

Loki looked up at her, seeing her smile and feeling a little shocked. But... But he had kissed her!!! And lots of stuff happened and... He felt kinda like he wasn't being taken seriously and for a minute he was going to protest more until she believed him, but she smiled, laughing at him and she winked and the pain in his chest was gone and it kind of felt light and fluttery now, as if there was a butterfly in his heart. It made him reach up and run his fingers over the small silver butterfly on his necklace. He smiled back at her, grinning. Alright, he'd let this one slide, but the next time he kissed her, she would never forget it. He stood up, holding out his hand to her and taking her hand, pulling her up and out of the bed. He smiled at her again.
"So what counts as flirting? I want to know. I mean, if smiling about you is considered flirting then thats hardly fair, you know? Can we take a walk? Its a nice day after all and the gardens are nice..."
He looked innocently away tot he window, thinking, wondering if he could flirt with her without her knowing he was flirting. In this case it wouldn't be flirting, he'd just be really sweet and charming... There was a difference... right? Yeah. He looked back to her, grinning and looking a little bit like his old self. Yeah he wasn't going to give up. Never...

"Of course we can talk, Loki." she resisted the urge to call him 'stupid'. It was what she'd been saying since the beginning! "And I'm not going to define flirting for you. You know very well what it is." she told him snarkily, getting up and going into her bathroom, carefully stepping over papers scattered all over the floor. She washed her face quickly and gave herself the once over before using a spell to fix her hair and her rumpled clothing. Yeah. Much better. "Okay. We can go now." she said in a dignified voice, glancing at her room and snapping her fingers. Most of the papers flew back to the desk and her bed made itself. The tearstained pillow was even dried.
How's that for handy magic!

Loki smiled at her, sighing and thinking this over. Well how was he going to find a loophole in THAT?!?! He knew what flirting was. But he wanted to know what he could and couldn't do from her point of view. This was going to be a difficult last week. He watched her walk away and sighed as he heard the water running. What was he to do? She came back and he smiled again, nodding and walking after her to the door. He opened the door for her, bowing and giving a funny smile as he said, "After you..." He watched her walk through and then followed, watching her butt for a second before he caught up to her side.
"So... Is stating the obvious flirting? If I was to come out and say you had a sexy body, would that be flirting?"
He kept his eyes looking forward as they wandered around the palace, making it to doors that lead outside and into the garden. The sun danced off his bright snowy hair, falling away into his infinitely dark eyes. He realized he was still bare chested and a glamour covered him in a white T-shirt. His necklace slipped beneath the shirt down on his smooth chest. His eyes adjusted, looking at all the color and greenery around them as he smelled the different blooms form there. He could smell roses a ways off, the daffodils, he smelled sweet pea and Jasmine. It was a delightful array of scents and he did love the smell of flowers. A soft bright cinnamon came to him and he smiled. Mmmm, carnations...

Grench rolled her eyes. "You're incurable, you know?" she said, shoving him hard on the arm, but she was grinning anyway. "You know exactly what flirting is, and I'm not going to define it for you. You'll know when you've stepped over the line. And when you do...bye bye secret name." she made a 'poof' noise and batted her eyelashes a Loki. "Anyway, I won't make it any harder for you. Kassidy and Dax have gone to somewhere secret...The Queen told me it was a funeral or something. She took these two fairy kids with her-- She looked pretty freaked, but wouldn't tell me about it because something the kids had said."
Grench sneezed, and recovered. "Wonder what it is."

Loki watched her, smiling at his futile efforts. This sucked. What was he going to talk about if he wasn't going to tell her how beautiful she was and sexy and awesome and flirt with her? What else was there to talk about? She saved him from having to think of a topic as she said Dax and the Queen had left. They'd taken... fairy kids? Because of something the fairy kids had said? Huh... He wondered what it was exactly the moment Grench voiced 'wonder what it is...' and he smiled, trying not to laugh for fear she'd think he was laughing at her. They wandered by the flower, Loki eyeing the morning glories and thinking how they seemed so pale compared to Grench... Why was that? He shrugged it away, thinking of reasons why Dax would suddenly leave for a funeral.
"Hmmm I dunno, he left in such a rush he didn't tell me. But I know where he lives now, he can't loose me..."
He grinned, thinking of how it hadn't been Dax who had lost Loki, but Loki had accidentally lost Dax. That all seemed so long ago. Because.. well... It WAS really long ago. He looked back over to Grench, enjoying the play of the sunlight on her skin, the smell of the flower wafting around her. For a second he wondered if giving her flowers was flirting. He smiled, wondering further into the thought and ending with her being slightly angry with him for some reaosn he wouldn't know and she wouldn't tell him.

"The kids were-- really dark. Dark skinned, I mean. I think they may have been half human. Which is odd enough-- but they were both crying..." she paused, frowning slightly. "I think it has something to do with the weather mage. I don't know if you know him but he's a good friend of the Queen's. I've heard he's worse than you, with girls I mean." she half smiled and shook her head. "I don't know how everybody ends up hearing about him-- or knowing about him. It just happens. But I havn't heard of anything for a month. Not even anything to do with the weather...mind you, I havn't really been paying attention to politics lately." I've been paying attention to you...
Grench shook her head for a moment. "Well she looked really serious, anyway. Even a little lost." A grey fairy walked across them and Grench stopped, lowering her eyes respectfully and giving her a little curtsy. The fae stopped for a moment and stared at them with a ghost of a smile. "You've been speaking of the dead." she murmured, with a voice whispering like the wind. Grench felt her heart freeze up, and the grey fairy left.
"...I hope the Queen is alright..." Grench muttered, staring at the spot where the grey fairy had been. Grey fairy's were death fairy's. Ash fairy's. Most feared them.

Loki nodded, thinking it over. The weather mage? Who, Neil? Ha! That guy was awesome! He remembered drinking with him and yeah he might have beena womanizer like all hell, but he was respectful and Loki felt the stupid urge to grow up like him. Neil was like his role model! And he had that fox Jamie! Phew! I he had a shapeshifter woman he could die happy! Oh he'd wanted her so bad, but the one time he thought they were going to she had lead him outside and left. Damn, that had been disappointing. He'd gotten to kiss her though and they'd fooled around just a little in a hallway. She hadn't seemed very into it though and it had made him feel a bit guilty. That was when they'd gone to the Queen's wedding ball or whatever, when she was with the evil jerk Victor. Good thing Dax had killed him, of course he'd been kind of afraid for his friend for a second as he looked to be bleeding to death on the ground. Dax was so effing noble! Could Loki ever be that noble and selfless? He didn't know. Then Grench stopped, curtsying to a gray fairy ahead. He looked around to see her speak, feeling his bones go cold as he brushed against Grench, slightly in front of her as the fairy drifted away. He'd been too shocked to remember to bow.
Pixie didn't care about the different kinds of fairies, all they remembered was that fairies were fairies and pixies were pixies. He was really trying to remind himself to bow to them when he passed, maybe they'd think better of him if he showed them some respect or something. Not that he respected some of them, but it was the polite thing to do. The fairy was gone and he realized thy were still standing there, Loki slightly in front of Grench and he smiled at her, putting his hand on her lower back and turning her so they could walk father into the gardens.
"Well if Dax is there then nothing is going to hurt her. He's really in love with her you know, it sucks that she had to forget about him for so long. I don't know how anyone could do that. I mean, I remember any time he'd talk about her he looked about dead, like he was shattered to pieces. If I was him I would have never stopped pestering her. I mean how can you stay away from something you want so much? I'll never understand him..."
Loki smiled off, finally seeing what he'd been looking for since they came into the garden. Carnations! He found it amazing that flowers could smell like cinnamon, but he loved carnations the most. If only they came in black. He went over, picking a white one and lifting it to his nose, smelling the deep spicy scent. He went back to Grench, looking up and smiling. For a moment he didn't know what he was doing, but he pulled his hands away. He'd stuck the white flower into her hair behind her ear, brushing away a strand of hair with it as he looked at her. he was stunned for a second, looking down seriously into her startled green eyes. He had to compose himself, but a moment later he smiled.
"Ha! Now I've made the flower more beautiful!"
He smiled, as if trying to play it off as if he hadn't wanted to say 'now you're more beautiful'. He liked what he came up with better though, so instead of some idiot saying 'the flower looks ugly compared to such beauty' it was like saying 'now you're more beautiful because you're together'. He ran one hand through his hair, smile faltering as he looked down at his feet looking slightly angry. His heart was doing this uncomfortable little bump, like someone was trying to play the drums on it. Maybe he really should see a doctor...

"It wasn't her fault!" Grench snapped, immediately jumping to the defence of her Queen. "Her mother was still alive and she'd made this powerful enchantment-- so that even if he had hung around she would have forgotten him the next moment...so much that if he hung around all the time she wouldn't even be able to see him." Grench sighed, "Imagine wanting to be with somebody that can't even see you. That can't even feel you when you touch them." Her voice had taken on a lost tone, as if she'd experienced it. She hadn't-- but she was close enough to the Queen that she'd been told some of her experiences.
"But I totally understand Dax. Sometimes if you think you're not worth it-- you don't want the person you like to have you." I'm caught in that trap now. Loki reached down and put a carnation on her ear, almost without noticing he was doing it. Grench raised her eyebrow, and her stomach fluttered. He looked confused for a moment and then tried to pull it off as a joke."You're bordering on the edge, Loki." she warned him lightly, plucking the flower from her hair and bending down close to the ground.
"Watch this. This is the carnation fairy's best flower." She put the flower near the ground and it suddenly seemed to stretch--- and put roots back in the ground. Grench let go of the flower and beamed. "Pretty as it was, I think we're both prettiest alive." She winked at him and looped an arm around his unconciously. "I'm sure whoever owns that flower would kill me for wearing it. They're only fit for the most beautiful." Grench shrugged, "Besides, flowers are so not me. I'm more of a weed girl." She pulled him to the edges of the garden near the fence, Near her secret name but didn't point her plant out. "But even these are for the best looking girls to wear." She didn't sound whistful, just frank.
