"No. You're really...really wrong. I don't wish." Kyle said, his mouth try. He licked his lips, feeling odd...had Seth really not felt that odd vibration coming from the girl? He felt it like a tingle crawling up his spine. Still, his tongue flicked out again and tasted the air...nothing. Maybe...he had imagined it after all. The demon shook himself, feeling small, as the demon approached the boy. His gut instincts told him to act, but he couldn't move, because part of him wanted this... and that part of made him feel paralized.
Annie, however, had gotten over the dull ache that trembled up her spine, and she leaned up, "Wait-- no--!" she coughed, and then said more loudly, "No! Don't!" Her hazel eyes had gained their spark again, "I'll do it. I'll let the demon lord do it to me." She turned to Kyle, "God damn you, will you torture an inocent child, or will you torture me?"
"Death befall both of you if I should begin." Kyle said softly, his eyes half closing as he looked away.
"NO. No, demon. Look at me! Death will come one way or another! I would rather it be by the hand of you who care, than by the man with the belt for eyes!"
"You would find that if I started I would turn into a worse version of him. Warped and twisted." Kyle protested softly, but the girl pushed on, getting up with a huff and picking up a small knife from the table.
She hobbled to where Kyle was standing and thrust the knife into his hands, "You'd better start now, demon, before belt man hurts the boy. I'd rather you have my blood on your hands than the blood of an innocent."
Kyle stared at the knife for a moment, held Annie's hand timmidly, and with precision that would have impressed Sarai, he sliced her pinky off in one smooth movement. The smell drove him wild. His pupils expanded to ocupy his whole eye and he hissed. Annie stared at her finger for a moment in wonder, and then screamed as blood started gushing out and an intense pain shot up her arm and into her brain. She fainted.
"There! You bastard! Are you happy!? Are you happy now?!" Kyle spat, throwing the finger towards him angrily and dropping the knife like a hot coal.

The look upon the boy's face was begining to grow meeker, his whole body withering as if he tried to shrink away. The smell of fear stung the bridge of his nose as the two humans were reaking of the emotion. Mostly from the boy. It was like his life was shrinking down to this momment. Torture till death. Seth lazily looked at the boy. You obviously couldn't tell by his eyes but his head was slightly tilted to the side, his walk lazy. This was easy. Too easy for any effort. He tossed the blade in the air, caught it, and almost threw it at the boy. Almost. His arm stretched out as if someone pressed the pause button, the razor almost leaving his fingers. Thats when he dropped his arm slightly, looking off to the side.
Annie had spoke up saying no. More like coughing and yelling. But it was still 'no'. Seth had let his 'one railed mind'--or so how Sarai called it-- travel over to Annie and Kyle. He lazily stood, the boy still in shock, but he seemed to relax a smidge. Seth watched as Annie got up, his lips curving to a wicked smile. OOoh. Bravery for the boy. Annie was too determined not to get the boy hurt. Seth pocketed the blade, his hands folding into his pockets. Kyle first denied it, but then...
Annie's peirceing scream made Seth wince slightly. He frowned just then and growled as Kyle started to yell at him. Inwardly Seth was pleased with Kyle. Outwardly-- not so much.
"Damnit Kyle! Now what can you do with her? The point is too-- ugh- forget it, you've done enough today."
Seth growled picking up her little finger mentally noting that Kyle had barely done anything. Something so morbid like this didn't effect him anymore. He merely just put it in his pocket as if it was his own tiny limb. He scowled and walked over to to the fainted Annie. He looked down at her expressionless then gave a look that would be the same if he rolled his eyes. If he had eyes. Anyways. He crouched down grabbing little passed out Annie, slinging her over his shoulder.
"I'm going to go put her finger back on. She'll be back later. Do what you want with the boy."
Seth truely did not care if Annie had her precious little finger or not- he was just going to take her away for a little while. He bothered not to even lift his hand his body ripping a hole into the air as he walked though it the rips easily being stitched back together until it looked regualr again. He figured while he had humans out of the way he might as well gain a little information. Sarai had said that Annie had done a little damage back on earth. Lets just say that Seth got easily curious.
[uhhh didn't know what to do ^_^'' not sure if you had anything planned just then, but yeahhhh.]

Sarai smelled the blood before anything else. Her instinct was to kill whatever it was so she could eat it, but that had been gone long ago. Seth came into the room carrying Annie and a finger. Her entire eye was black as she looked at them both, "You know the smell of blood riles me up, Seth. You're lucky I just ate, or I'd have taken a chunk out of her." she snarled, as her eyes refused to blink and remove their powerful gaze from Seth's. The girl stirred and more blood dribbled down onto her shirt, making Sarai shift uncomfortably. They didn't call her 'the eater' for nothing. This was a spectacular show of self control. "Get her out of here."
"Come back with her finger." She added as an after thought, turning away from the pair and going back to writing a report up.

"Geh-"
Seth choked on air as he hadn't even realised that Sarai was in the room. He defensivly stepped back, holding onto Annie protectivly. Not that he acually cared for Annie herself, but it was just the purpose that he needed her body. Sarai's eyes were a deep coal black that dangerous tint flaring out. Seth looked a little cautious because Sarai was very lethal when she was hungry and in the presence of blood. Thank god she'd just eaten. Seth was silent not daring to speak a word and yes okay even sometimes Sarai scared the fuck out of him. He started to walk out and hesitated when she said to come back with the finger too. He kept walking on wondering what the hell she ment...
Alright, time to think. He had to find somewhere secure and safe where he could put Annie. Nobody else knew of this plan and he was sure that there were others like Sarai that were desperate to get a chunk out of the human. Some would be outraged to find a human down in the depths of hell. Damnit. He strode sleekly thoughout the palace avoiding any demons if possible. Eh. But he slowed his pace hearing footsteps coming closer. The maids of the house. There were alot of them surried around cleaning because god knows how many demons were residing in the huge palace now. Seth litteraly did a double take looking at the hallway beside him as he securely held Annie and trotted down it, opening a large wooden door and shutting it behind him.
Phew. Empty. Seth looked up to the room scanning it. There were large bookshelves aligned in rows. Seth immediatly took it as the library. Sure, he'd been here a few times, but not much to really memmorize it. He cautiously stepped forward inspecting the place as he was positive it was empty. Hm, it was obvious that no demon would be here. Seth strode to the empty large tables taking a chair and sliding Annie into it. Standing back up straight the man ran his fingers though his dull blue tinted hair then scratching the back of his head. Alright. Now to attatch the finger! He hadn't exactly caught on to what Sarai said...but for some reason if she wanted the finger for herself..well... then they'd probably just have to cut it back off. No biggie.
Seth pictured his needles and thread in his dresser back in his room that Sarai was now occupying. The contents immediatly filled his hands as he smiled gently. Ah, being talented was so..rewarding. Quickly he started to get to work. His hand grabbed hers as he pulled a chair next to her. After many unsucessful tries he finally got the string in the needle. Taking the finger he eye'd it carefully befrore sticking it correctly on the nub of where her pinkie finger should have been. Perhaps he didn't need to sew it back on...maybe the imortal power would just heal it back on... He pondered this for a momment not realizeign at any momment she could wake up.
[figured that demons weren't a big fan of reading XDDD muhah sorreh i didn't get what sarai said at the end >__>]

Annie woke up feeling a throb of pain on her hand that seemed unreal...for a moment she'd thought the whole thing was a dream, right before she'd felt consciousness on the edge of blacknes...but...had it been blackness? She could have sworn she'd been in a well lit room for awhile...crying...her mother? Her uncle? A cat that reminded her of her father? The thoughts were whiped from her hand as she felt a throb and she gasped, letting out a little whimper of condensed pain and trying to pull away from whoever was putting something sharp into that area of hurt.
The girl opened her eyes and immediately wanted to close them... but she didn't. She looked around, saw the man with the belt on his face and gasped, pulling away from him, through a haze of pain. "G-get away from me-- please--!" She started to cry again, her shoulders shaking as she held her hand to her chest protectively. "Stop hurting me!" It didn't seem to matter that her hand was healed, she felt the wound there as if it were fresh. There was blood on her t-shirt and face and still some dribbling down her hand. "Oh God it hurts it hurts." she managed to mutter out, clutching her newly sewn on finger like it would help. "Please, please, stop it... please...stay away from me...please stop hurting me ohmygod it hurts."
Another shuddering sob climbing down her back that made her fall to her knees. This last one seemed to last ages, she lost her breath and sat there with a look of pure pain on her face, but with no sound. Until she was able to draw breath, her expression didn't change. Even then, as she let out another traumatic sob. She could barely feel anything else than pain and fear right now, but as the minutes ticked by her pained sobbing receded as the pain started t ogo away. She still rocked herself a little, holding the hand and looking at it with fear and pain. It still hurt, but she could speak without going crazy...she sucked in deep gulps of air, staring at the man with the belt fearfully. "What do you want from me?" she finally asked, her voice cracked in the middle.

[awww D; ]
Seth hadn't even noticed the flicker of breath come back into her. His hands finishing the job he tied the knot securely. Good timing because she had just woken up. The man stiffined as he heard a gasp, his face looked towards the knewly awoken face. She was gasping (either from fear or pain--probably both) and her eyes were wide. She ripped her hand from his, easily trying to scoot away though being kept by the chair she was sitting in so defensively. Seth pulled his hands back to himself slightly leaning away from the girl. By this time she had moved back to hysterics saying something between her sobs. Ehh... Seth hesitated looking at the girl as if she was something odd. Crap, now what? His head turned to the side, keeping an 'eye' on her but glanceing off. All was silent but the girl. She was saying something about God which natually made him tense. God could not save her now. Atleast he hoped. And still Seth was scilenced by her pleading. A tone in her voice made Seth look away. He looked concerned for a momment, his back tight as if someone had just tried to stab him with a knife. His hand trembled for a small momment. That voice... And then the momment was gone. No breath came from his mouth, he kept a calm pace though his nose. Being calm was key. Being able to think straight. Finally Seth looked back down to where she was currently positioned. On her knees as if she was begging for mercy. Although she was silent. They both were silent...well, atleast in words. She was still sobbing now slightly mechanicly as if her body was constantly telling her to do it at certain times. His attention was brought to her hand as they both realised that it had started to heal. Hah. He smiled lightly feeling victory. Of course it dropped slightly as she looked up. She was an absolute mess. Her cothes were bloody, dirty and torn. Her hair was in desperate need of a brush and tears old and new stained her face. Seth was not phased by her this time. Except for the fact that she was staring at him. She'd never stared at him longer than ten seconds and now it seemed like minutes till she could catch her breath. And she spoke. He was positive she'd already asked this question but she wasn't too concerned with that. He stared at her oddly for a momment, a peice of hair falling beside his face. Taking a breath he hesitated then spoke,
"Nothing too personal. It's just that Kyle needs a human. I'm sure you've caught on enough to know why."
He mused trying to sound calm. He stared at her for a momment longer before standing up and walking past her with a brush. Of course secretly he locked the doors, figureing that nobody would truely desperatly need to get into the library. Then again, he locked it from the inside too. Casually he walked to a random bookshelf reaching high and grabbing a random book. Adjusting his belt he looked back to Annie curiously.
[oooo. secretness *shuts mouth* =DD]

"You need him to ... to torture me." Her mind couldn't wrap itself around the idea and she shut her eyes tightly, trying to block the room away...to get back to the dream she'd been having. But the pain stopped her from going back. It kept her here, in this room. She took another shuddering breath and opened her eyes again. "But that's evil. He doesn't want to do it. Why can't....why don't you just leave...leave us both alone?" There was absolute hopelessness in her voice that carried itself around the room heavily.
Her eyes shifted to his back, to his scars. They were so fixed on the scars that she might have been frozen in place, looking at him. "Did they do that to you, then? Were you human once?" her voice carried a hint of sadness that twined itself through the air like a ribbon. "Is that what they're going to do to me?" Will I turn into a monster, like you are? And then, the worst doubt, "Will I want to hurt other people, like you do?" She said it out loud without realizing it, and her left had went to her head. It was like she hadn't realized her hand had healed itself, because the pain was still there... she was just getting used to it.
"...Does it hurt?" she asked in a small voice, that still managed to carry itself across the room.

Seth didn't think that having so much attention on him would be so... weird. Since when did the human want to talk to him? She had been too busy crying and pleading before, but now she wanted to talk. Oh yeah thats right, he was her only way out. Blue hair sticking out to the side, the belted man looked away to his book as he nodded slowly. Yes. She needed to be used for torture..for a semi good reason. It was too complex. He would have to explain. Why should he explain himself? He shouldn't. So there. Silently he turned the page trying to figure out what the hell was going on with the story. Somebody getting hung by his toenails. Hm, interesting enough. Evil. Evil? He didn't look up from his book. But when she said to leave them alone (it was more in a question though) his head raised.
"It's... complicated."
He spoke, trying not to sound weak. He would not let her bring him down to this level with all her little pleas and cries. He shifted rather uncomfortably and closed the book with one hand. He immediatly shoved it back in the shelf. She was staring at him. Truthfully (but never admitable) it was uncomfortable. Not that lots of people (always human) didn't look at him-- he was the average freak show. Casually, he walked back over to the table sitting in a chair on the other side of her. He slumped over, looking rather worn out as she asked her question. Was he ever..human? His face looked down to his shoes listening to her nonstop questions. A natual human reaction when you're curious. The only one that really made him tense was 'Will I want to hurt other people, like you do?'. It almost, almost hurt, but he passed it quickly. Her final question made him hesitate then he tensed and replied,
"Pain is only what you let it be."
He responded his tone hard, not letting the situation phase him. He hesitated and looked back up to her, leaning back his his chair.
"I dunno what'll happen to you. Hopefully you won't end up looking too torn up...Anyways... Haven't thought that part out yet."
Once again he said it like it was no big deal. He just hadn't thought out much of the plan yet. He remembered her other qestions and sighed lightly,
"As for me, I..eh.. I was once human- heh- hard to belive looking like this, eh?"
Comically he smirked bringing his hands behind his head and leaning back way in his chair. Hm. Being human. He looked away gently, wondering if he should let his thoughts flood with memmories. Hopefully most had gone away...being human...

She stared at him with wide eyes and then looked away. "Yeah. It /is/ hard to believe." she said in an angry, resentful voice. The way he talked about it was so...so casual. "Gods, they've turned you into a monster." Her voice was low and angry once again. "And now you're trying to turn the redhead into a monster as well. You people are so sick." She'd just finished saying this when she winced, afraid he'd hit her, or do something violent. Annie remained in that position for what seemed like an age before relaxing, when he didn't hit her. But don't get comfortable, Annie. He's a demon all the same. Her hazel eyes surveyed him fearfully once more and she looked away.
"It must have hurt. It must have taken you an age before you could get to the point where you said pain was what you made of it. I bet it still hurts." Her voice had a nasty tone to it, and she lifted her hand to scratch her face and whipe the stickyness off tears off of it. "And you're going to torture me until I say that it doesn't hurt, evne if it does. And by then I'll be just as sick as you, and I'll want the pain, just like you do. And I'll want to hurt others because of what you're going to do to me."
She paused, glaring down at her shoes, "And maybe then I'll wear the belt around my eyes, and hurt you." Tears started leaking down her face again at the thought and she wiped them away hastily, sniffing and gulping. "And it'll hurt even though you say it doesn't." Another sniff, she turned to glare at him. Pure hate in one hazel eyed look, "At least I'm not afraid of admitting that it hurts. Right now, anyway."

There was a tone in her voice that made the man glance up from his gaze at the blank ceiling. She had quit tearing up and grew hard. Her voice was angry and bitter. Nothing out of the usual. He supposed he'd be pretty pissed too if he was held like this. But, it's not like he was in her position, right? So it didn't really matter much. He noticed her wince, wondering if her hand hurt. What she said had been utterly rude. Who was she to call him a monster? She barely even knew him. Though as all human reactions she based her thoughts by a first impression. And with that reasoning he decided not to hit her. Take it as a blessing.
Though he looked back up to the ceiling keeping track by her mere sounds and vibrations. She decided to speak again. Outwardly her words ment nothing. She was just a kid (to him atleast). She knew nothing of 'pain'. Admiting to pain was not only weak, but it made the feeling worse. It made it acual. Real. Down here, it was something to be feared because in the two worlds 'pain' had a whole diffrent meaning. He merely said nothing for the reason was that he had nothing to say. Maybe she would become a 'monster'.
Great now. More tears streaked her face. Humans were so weak. Stupid, unworthy-- acually quite humorous. Seth smirked lightly as she spoke about wearing the belt around her head and hurting him. Neheh... she was just aking for trouble, wasn't she. He could feel her glare try and burn right though him. But he wasn't that thin to let any sort of gaze peirce him. He let the silence roll by and it almost looked liked he had dozed off in a sleep. But no, he shifted bringing his hands down and adjusting his belt.
"You'll learn soon enough."
Seth mummbled lightly looking away. She had far too much to understand that down here things were a bit diffrent.
"Speaking of admitting, what was Sarai talking about when she said you had a bit of bad history? I wasn't expecting an ex-convict to be wandering around the subway so innocently, hmm, but you're too cute to be an ex-convict. But really, since you speak of pain so willingly..."
Seth teased her lightly with a wicked smirk staring at her slyly. He hoped that maybe she would freak if he called her 'cute'. But hey, she was! Anyways, what could little ol' Annie do to make Sarai not even mention it. Comon now, we're talking about Sarai. Evil, vicious, blood sucking Sarai. Perhaps the cute little innocent girl he found on the subway wasn't so cute, little, and innocent.
[muahaha cant wait to find out what she did]

Annie stared at him and turned red. "It's none of your business", she snapped fearfully, clutching at her head with one hand.Tell him now, or he'll torture it out of you later... She winced at the thought and covered her face with one hand. "When I was thirteen I buried a cat and her kittens...alive..." Her lungs constricted and she turned red again. Ohgod. She didn't want to admit this. She didn't want to say this. "And at sixteen I sold my body on the streets for money. While I was out...a man came into our house and k-killed my mum and my uncle." But we forgive you, even though it was your fault. Annie clutched her head, which felt like it was on the verge of exploding. "I still go to church. I wouldn't have gone to hell because of that. I'm sorry. I'm always sorry about htat."
The pain in her hand was almost gone now and she flexed it experimentally. An electric current of pain shot up her hand and into her skull, making her gasp and flail backwards, falling on the hard surface of the floor. She got up quickly and went to huddle in the corner that was as far away from the man with a belt for eyes as possible. "So what is the woman demon? Is she your wife? Or your sister? Or um...your mother?" It didn't seem likely...but then...hell was not a likely place for her to be. Who knew how much time had passed up above while she resided here down bellow.
Who knew how much time would pass before they would let her go... If they would let her go.

The shade of red on her face made him grin slyly. Muaha, he did it. But then again, he was a little taken off by her first admittment. Burried a cat and kittens alive. Yeah sure, it was odd, but everybody did something bad like-- Prostitution? Seth was a little more taken back, but as always silent. He would have never guessed. His little, cute Annie selling her body? No, no, not the little Annie he found on the subway. He said nothing, but stared when she said that while she was out somebody had killed her mother and uncle. Hm. He felt no pity for her, it just washed away the momment his evil soul found it. Everybody had rough lives who was she to be so diffrent? He almost winced when she spoke about church. Ugh, how could she say it so...regularly. Church was a hoax, a lie, nothing could get you past the sin you had commited arleady.
He lingered on making a smart-ass response to her sins. But something held him back. She easily distracted him of finding pain. Her hand seemed to still cause her much torment. That was enough torment in itself. He simply just stared and luckily before he could make his response to that she made her move. He almost got out of his chair, wondering where she was going-- but only alway from him. Reasonable enough. He stayed where he was. Watching her for a few momments he listened to her sudden change in subject. Sarai... He blankly stared at Annie. W..wife? The room mommentarily bristled cold, making hairs stand up on the back of necks. And then it was gone. Seth curved a grin and laughed,
"Ahhh hah... Sarai? My...mother? Eheh, No, no... more like..."
He paused pondering before smiling and nodding,
"More like fuck buddies."
He leaned back in his chair, placeing his feet on the table and leaning back comfortably. He hoped it wasn't too blunt, but why would he lie to her about that. Sarai and him had simply nothing but friends with benifits. And she was sort his 'boss' in a way. He contently smiled before looking up at the ceiling as if it was something interesting.

The phrase didn't particularly phase Annie, who as mentioned previously, was wise in ways of the body. "Well she is very pretty." The girl murmured, and there was a certain amount of fear and awe in that voice. A tear in the atmosphere to her right, causing Annie to jump violently. Sarai stepped out and sniffed the air. Her pupils were still slightly larger than normal but they no longer filled the socket with black. "Better. Much better. And yes, I am." She said, smiling lightly at the girl. The smile didn't reach her eyes. "Seth, I expected you back minutes ago... have you been dilly dallying, then? I see you sewed her finger back on. A pity...I was going to have that as a snack, later on." She paused, as if considering.
"...I could extend our period of celibacy another week for that, but I'm bored. Instead I'll shorten our current one. Three days from now, you'll be back in action. Meanwhile, I'll go bother the tentacle monsters." She giggled at her own joke and grinned down at Annie, as if inviting her to share in her humor. Annie quickly looked away, afraid that the woman would be mad at her for staring. "And while I hang around with the tentacle men, you can have your ah...fun with Annie. That is what you were planning to do, right?" Her voice remained as dulcet as ever, but there was a heavy threat with her words. "It's not like she's innexperienced, after all."
Annie blushed a deep red and covered her face, feeling shame to her very roots. Shame, and newfound fear and hate for the man with the belt. Had that been what he was planning all along? "Anyway, finish up quickly, won't you?" she asked, clicking over to him in her prada heels and sitting on his lap, rubbing herself on him comfortably and putting her lips very close to his neck. "We've got a meeting with one of Beelzebub's ministers, and I've kept him waiting for a decade already." Hopping up as if nothing had happened, another tear in the atmosphere appeared and she stepped through it without a backwards glance.
Annie felt like she could breath again, but she was also edging away from Seth. "I-is that what you were going to do to me, then?" You can deal with /sex/, Annie...you /can/....Right? Still, her eyes were terrified, although she tried not to show it and she felt her breathing constrict again. "Please don't." It didn't have any hint of a whine in it. It was just a statement. She didn't think he wouldn't, anyway.

[awwww thats so sad!]
As always Seth did what he does perfectly. Stare. A simple look from him could be shuddering with the unknowing of where he was exactly looking. The blank look upon his face was clearly a sign of not knowing what to do. Should he be excited about the decreasment of his punishment or sadened for a reason that was still unknown to him. Inwardly he felt a splinter of him feel horrid for Annie. Why should she be put though this? Seth mentally shook his head and turned against the stupid point. He had no pity towards this girl. This human. Anyways, he got to have Sarai in a few days and maybe if he was lucky and good he'd be able to score her by nightime.
But what about Annie? Had he really be useing her for sex? He was quite split on the decision. He was kind of aroused now because of the simple actions of what Sarai had just done to him, but did he need to put that on Annie? She was experienced. Seth just merely sat there before letting a hand come and run his hands though his hair before smirking wickedly. Hm. There was only one way to fix a problem like this...
"I don't think you really have a say in it now..."
He hesitated before snapping out of thin air, then mommentarily after re-appearing crouched down infront of her. A rough looking but gentle hand came and brushed her cheek softly.
"Hmm, I promise I hadn't planned it this way... But..."
He fell into silence, gazing at her from an angle before snatching her up. He placed her on her feet, his hands gripped around her shoulders, his fingers squeezing lightly. Oddly enough there was some part of him telling him to stop. Just let her go. Leave her be! He scowled for a momment gazing down at her knowing she was powerless. Even if she wanted to lash out, he would obviously hurt her before she even moved. A unstitched finger came an lined her jaw, feeling her soft human skin. The torture it was to feel real human skin again. He wondered... Yes. No. Damnit. He couldn't decide. The simple look in her eye was holding him back. The only part of her. The rest was screaming out to him. Take her. Right now. His other hand trembled for a momment when it seemed just as if he was about to take her... He let her go. Looking down at her, he stared before looking away.
"You intrigue me, Annie."
The demon spoke softly, but an uneasyness settled in his voice as he shoved his hands back in his pockets and walked to a bookshelf slowly.
"I'm going to save you for later."
[WEE. i finished! hope thats cool :]]

Just. Don't. Move. She stared up at him as he picked her up and put his hands around her, his expression, of course, unreadable with that belt around his eyes. She'd been through this before...The man she worked with...her pimp...he'd held all power over her. He'd done this very same thing. The trick was to do anything they wanted. Then it wasn't really rape...you didn't feel as bad about it afterwards. Or scared. because there was that little voice in your head telling you You want this. It's fine. It's fine. For awhile the man didn't move and she looked at the belt, how strange the leather was...almost as if it were made out of the hides of people instead of cows. The thought made her want to shiver, but she still didn't move. Seth moved away and Annie began to breath again. Her hands were shaking as he moved away from her.
"...I suppose that's slightly comforting." she murmured in a harsh, broken sort of whisper. Annie moved away from him again, towards the bookshelves in an attempt to calm herself. She pulled one out absently and opened it. The letters seemed to writhe and she dropped it with a gasp, feeling a shudder coarse through her. It had felt like the binding of the book had actually moved on her fingers.
A sort of uneasy silence had possessed the room and Annie sat back down. "...Thank you." she murmured, putting her knees up to her chin and hiding her face. Tired. Hungry. Afraid. It wasn't such a surprise that she fell asleep so quickly.
