"Well?"
Her wings folded as her feet delicately approached the ground, the pine needles providing a soft bedding to land on. Her dark black-blue hair swept from her face in the rush of landing among the tall trees. Nali straightened and smoothed down her dress, taking long strides forward to the figure waiting on the woods' edge.
He was intimidatingly tall, wearing a worn leather jacket without a shirt and torn jeans. His hands were in his pockets, his blonde bangs covering his eyes. A sly, charming smile flattered his hauntingly pale face. "Well, where was Nali that I felt her stress from so far away?"
"Nowhere," She replied in a very flat tone, walking straight past the open arms he held out for her and into the woods. He laughed and twisted around to grab her wrist. Once holding it in his strong grasp, he pulled her forward to his chest and held her there like a plaything.
Nali stared up at his face and glared at him. "C'mon Princess, why so angry?" Theo taunted, knowing he held the power because she didn't try to get away. It was like a little game they played. "You weren't off with another guy, were you? Because if so, he's good as dead to you. Get over him."
She laughed bitterly, and put her free arm around his waist. "Oh yeah? You gonna kill him?" The fairy asked as Theo took his hand from her wrist and ran it down her face. "Yep. You gotta problem with that?"
"None," She replied as he bent down and their lips locked in a kiss loaded with too much pain and pressure. But it was enjoyable nonetheless, for him.
She took a breath and he let her push him away. They walked a little in silence back towards the Clan, and her bracelet shined once more. "It wasn't another guy...was it?" Theo interrupted the silence, clearing his throat a little. But she could pick up the hint of worry in his voice, and soothed it. "No. If it was, you'd be the first to know," She joked darkly, looking down at the shady ground.
He nodded, his shaggy hair falling from his face. His eyes looked at nothing ahead as he contemplated. Of course, he didn't bring up the whole "lost love" ordeal. Nali didn't reveal her entire past. But she did tell him enough to get an understanding of why she acted the way she did, on impulse. Sean or summat? Shane? Yeah. The reason she had an extreme dislike for vampires. He didn't dare bring them up, else face the concequences. She couldn't hurt him, not physically. But she could leave him. And he wouldn't be able to take that.
Nali side-stepped up next to him and looked at his face. So strong and harsh and yet...beautiful. To her. He was all she had. She entwined her fingers into his, and they walked on in the silence. But she didn't miss the smile that flashed on his lips, and she couldn't help but smile a little as well.
