[introoooo only. =] unless if you really want to post...then go ahead. ^^]
.....
"I sold a wonderful stallion yesterday, hun."
"Oh did you."
"Yeah, pure breed, Mustang."
"If only I could get a Mustang."
"..."
"The car, hun."
The latina rolled her eyes and sighed as the man on the other end of the phone like chuckled darkly. Wise a.ss. She looked at the feilds of the pasture as she wrung a lunge rope around her shoulder, and slipped a crop in the ring of her belt loop.
"Yeah well bring me 10,000 Laties and we'll see."
The man laughed huskily on the phone as she rolled her eyes and smiled. As his laugh died down he sighed,
"Love ya, babe."
"See ya later."
She waited a few seconds but the line was cut off. She closed the phone, stuffing it in her back pocket. She swore, that man was just as much as a brute as this stallion right infront of her. He was a big stag, about seventeen hh from the withers. He was a Thoroughbred, who had a name of 'The Red Baron'- Baron for short. He had a chocolate color exterior with black hoofs. She slipped the halter around him and he snorted, and whinnied about his day. Horses were quite the chatter boxes- you just had to be able to listen. She strapped the lunge rope to the halter and clicked her mouth as the horse began at a walk. The horses would tell her about they're day's in the pasture and things that they heard from other horses. It was quite entertaining to realize there was just as much drama in the horse world than her own. She exercised the horse, half listening, but rather thinking about other things.
The Red Baron breathed out heavily, giving an eye to the daydreaming girl. He bucked for a momment getting her attention.
"Oh!"
He halted and had his ears pinned back.
Something else on your mind other than killing me?
The horse snorted out as she gave an appologetic look.
"Eh, sorry."
The horse gave a simple nod of his head and he was let out into the pasture. The woman slung the rope around her shoulder and leaned against the railing watching the horses chat as some pair of birds above her bickered aloud.
[post or not- it's just an intro... i'll love you if you post though. =]]

A blue van drove up, clunking dangerously and stopping in the middle of the field. There was no movement for awhile but a second later the doors slammed open from the back, and a spry young girl ran out of the car, laughing gleefully. The front door opened and a woman with brown hair up to her ears climbed out, bending a little to get her tall figure out of the door, she stood stretched, adjusting her long skirt and walking to the back door, glancing in for a second before turning to call the child back, "Marie!! Marie Clarette! Get back here! You have to cary your own lunch!" she called out in a clear voice.
The girl ran back, grabbed a backpack, and sneezed. Marielle caught her arm and dusted her off, "Let me tie your hair back--" she said, trying to pull on the girls curly brown hair. Marie Clarette sprung loose, laughing. "Maman, I like my hair down!" she told her haughtily, before rushing off again.
Marielle sighed as she watched the girl go, and felt a small pressure on her lower back, "Eh?" she asked, turning.
Meanwhile, Clarette had run ahead to where she saw a huge horse, "'Allo! Je suis Marie Clarette!" she told the horse in french (in her mind she had always believed animals understood french better than english), and then saw the woman next to the horse. "What's his name?" she demanded rudely, trying to scramble up the fence.

A small figure with short messy brown hair and white bangs stood in the folds of Mari's skirt. He was thin and incredibly good at not being noticed. He'd practiced his whole life on not being noticed and now he used that gift well. It wasn't exactly his gift, that he knew of, but he just had a talent for it. So now he stayed close to his mother, looking around with deep watery blue eyes, watching his sister flee the embrace of their mother and run away laughing. He admired his sister greatly for her laughter. She was always so outgoing and high spirited. He pressed himself closer to Mari, his plain dark blue shirt clean and on the back was a small design of wings. He wore jeans that ran down to simple worn shoes that looked like they had been black at one point. He loved to run and if he couldn't run he'd neevr be able to keep up with his twin sister.
He looked up at his mother, seeing she had felt him move closer and he shuffled back a little, looking up at her and smiling sweetly but shyly. The only one he was ever more outgoing with was his family and his sister. He had a bond with his sister, a conecction. He skipped away, running after his sister and tripping a little before getting back to himself and zooming away.
"Marieeee!!!"
He called out weakly, like he wasn't use to yelling but just talking quietly if he ever even spoke at all. He tripped a little again when he saw the giant horse, the unknown woman and his sister mounting a fence. He made a small noise that could have been a wimper, slowing to a walk and making his way slowly towards the fence. His mind reacted out for Marie feebly, he was her twin brother and they had always had that mental link, but she could use it better than he could, he struggled to call for her when she could talk to him mentally in a moment if she knew where he was.
Mariiiieeee, what are you doing? Dont talk to strangers! You know what Papa says...

Clarette half paused on the fence, glancing behind her and frowning before standing up on it defiantly. She lost her balance and her foot slipped, and she managed to topple backwards and land with a hard thud on the dusty ground. A cloud of dust went up, and for a moment there was only silence. Then a piercing scream erupted from the tiny girls mouth. Her mother, who had seen the child climb foolishly up the fence was allready bounding over, and kneeled quickly, picking her child up as she sucked air in to scream again. Marielle dusted her off, checked her hands and knees for scrapes, and then held her until the tears stopped, glancing up at the woman apollogetically from time to time.
Suddenly, Clarette pushed herself away from her mother and glared through her tear streaked face at her brother, who was suddenly looking guilty. "Shut up! Shut up, you stupid boy!" she screamed, her face turning red. Marielle shook her head, "Clarette! Hush! Don't scream, sort your--" she began to say, but Clarette had allready taken off and tackled Lauret. Marielle had to pull them appart and make Clarette let go of Lauret's hair. She shook both of them, "Enough! We came to see about a horse, but if you keep behaving so childishly I'll put you in the car and we'll /go/." she snapped at both of them.
See what you did?! Marie Clarette glared at her brother angrily, without saying a word.

Lauret had watched his sister fall, sighing and shaking his head. He closed his eyes, shrugging and looking over as his mother ran past him. He watched, his sister hiccuping and cry and he muttered into her mind, shaking his head yet again.
I told you so...never listen to me...
He felt her anger flare and his eyes snapped open, ready for her to hurt him because he felt it coming. He loved his sister dearly but she was so touchy sometimes. He was the reasonable one, the logical one. She was so rash sometimes. He waited, expecting, tensing and making small movements to prepare himself as the moment came and she sprang at him, tackling him to the ground. They rolled over and Lauret just tried his best not to get hurt. He wasn't going to hit his sister, he just had to defend himself and try not to let her hurt herself in the process. They rolled and his mother finally pulled her off, telling them both to calm down and proceeding to scorn them. His sisters words snapped into his mind and he looked sideways at her, sighing and rolling his eyes before thinking.
I DID tell you so, you just never listen to me...even though you KNOW I'm almost always right...

No you're not, stupid! You're just a stupid little boy who thinks he knows everything! she thought back at him, struggling to get at him with her hands, and finally settling with sticking her tongue out at him. Marielle sighed, shaking Clarette a third time until she relaxed and turned to the woman, smiling half apollogetically, "Ah, excuse me... I came to ask about a horse... Iwas thinking of letting my children learn to ride one, if they were good." she said cheerfully. "I'm hoping for one that's gentle, or one that'll do well with kids--"
"I want him, maman!" Marie Clarette squealed, pointing to the huge horse she'd been admiring before. She always liked big animals. The bear cub in the forest was getting bigger, and she still tussled with him. "Can we have him?! He's beautiful!" she beamed at the Red Baron. Marielle looked uneasy. She /knew/ Marie Clarette could handle a large horse, but this one seemed beyond large...he was gigantic. "Non, petit chat, he is too big. I'm sorry-- What was your name?" she said, trying to keep her focus on the woman while keeping afirm hold on both of her children's hands.

Lauret frowned at his sister, giving her a look that said 'why must you fight me on this?' before turning his big watery eyes to his mother. They were here to get a horse. He was afraid of heights though. Lauret would probably never ride the monstrous thing in front of him. But of course his mother didn't want this giant beast in front of them. Mama never wanted them to get hurt. Lauret sighed again at his sister asking for the giant stallion. A small brown piece of Lauret's hair moved and on closer inspection you would have seen a brown moth clinging to him. It wiggled it's fuzzy antennas and stayed still, watching on his head at the yet more massive horse before them.
"Mama, what colour horse are we getting? I think...something with brown and white...?"
He looked to Marie first, his white bangs fluttering in his eyes a little as a small smile twitch the corner of his lips up. They had brown and white hair, it would make sense for their horse to have brown and white on it. He also wanted to name it. Or help name it, since Marie would most likely spit out a name first. Maybe he'd get to brush the horse. He didn't hold anything against the animal, he was just afraid of sitting on it at all...and being so high...and going fast....and...how amazingly big the horses all were. He would be squashed like a bug. But he could brush them and help take care of them. He liked that.

Marielle let go of Lauret's arm and gave him a side armed hug, "Of course, moi petit principe." she said, bending way down to give him a quick kiss on his head. "Anything you like." she said, straightening again and keeping her hand on Lauret's hair. Clarette stuck her tongue out at Lauret, "Baby! Maman, he just doesn't want me to have the big horse! I want the big horse, maman!" she whined, looking at the huge horse. Marielle shook her head, "Certainly not." she said, feeling a cold terror seize her heart. "He's too big. Go play, Clarette. You too Lauret. I want you out of my sight for at least thirty minutes while I speak to this nice young lady."
Marie Clarette was about to argue, but her mother stared her down, so she fled. Marielle sent Lauret running after her.
--
The girl let sunlight stream on her face and hair, swipping away at her white bangs and looking back, catching sight of Lauret. "Don't you just think we should get the big horse?" she asked, even though she knew he didn't think that at all. "He's /beautiful/. Almost as beautiful as Ursa. But Ursa's a bear, so she doesn't count." Clarette smiled, moving a strand of hair away from her face. "And you'll be able to ride him, Lauret! I'll make sure! I'll help you!" she assured him seriously.

Lauret looked up at his mother, about to answer before his sister yelled at him. He didn't want them to get the big horse. If they were both getting their own horses Lauret would rather have a small pony, maybe a shetland. He didn't want to be up high and flying around fast and daring. He didn't want to fall off and get hurt. He hated getting hurt. His mother kissed his head and sent him and his sister off, lauret's stomach giving a twinge as they fled together, him close behind her till she spun on him. Didn't he want them to get the big horse? She would help him ride it. She would MAKE him ride it. His stomach twinged again and he didn't want to let his sister down. He hated busting her bubble so he always tried to go along with her plots.
"I...I suppose..."
He said it unsteadily, looking back at the big brute with a bit of unease on his face. He pictured himself sitting atop the big strong horse, the animal flicking it's tail and then dashing, him flying through the air, the wind carrying him as much as the stallion. He imagined the thrum of the hoof beats on the ground. Then he imagined plunging off the horse, being thrown high and then hitting the ground with a sickening smack that made him whimper inaudibly. His small crumbled body lifeless. He gulped, looking back at his sister.
"What would you name something like him? I think we should get something smaller..."
with that the moth fluttered out of his hair, landing in his palm as he raised his hand to the height of his chest, looking at the little bug and stroking it's head gently. Lauret could be the most gentle person on the face of the planet.

Clarette sat down, inviting Lauret to join her. They layed there, watching the sky. She closed her eyes and was immediately bombarded with images of her brother's fear. Unthinkingly, she turned and hugged his waist. She sent him images of her on the horse. She looked proud and tall, and she helped Lauret on the horse. They rode together, faster than the wind, jumping over obstacles, thundering down paths. Clarette could still sense his fear, though, so she changed the vision and let it become a daydream. They jumped off the horse, and instead of falling, floated. The air pushed them around and they flew, Marie Clarette doing sweeping arcs, her arms spread out wide. Her laughter ballooned in the air and she felt Lauret's fear leave him. Slowly, she got rid of the daydream and sighed, removing herself from his chest and yawning.
"I wouldn't let anything happen to you, Lauret." she told him mid stretch. "Especially not on something as silly as a horse. Did you know that they have brains the size of peas? My friend Hannah told me. I don't believe her though."

[Okay, hahaha, thanks for posting guys -- Oh and blue, what i ment by 'killing me' was that she was working him kinda hard =]]
The woman sighed about to turn around and go clean some tack, although someone was pulling up the empty feild by the stable. She watched carefully as the little girl popped out of the car. A mother came along, obviously having a hard time controlling the little girl. A little boy then erupted from behind the mother and thats when Baron's attention grew. The large horse had looked at the two children, inspecting them, but finding it alot easier to munch on some grass. The woman looked at the children, opeing her mouth to speak before the little girl fell- the woman gasped and moved toward the little girl.
Baron on the other hand looked up at the hassle and blinked before whinning and watching. The woman looked over at the horse, her animal instincts telling her that the horse was laughing.
Quiet you.
She said to the horse though her mind before the mom looked up to her and spoke. Horse rides? She only taught a few lessons for people, but normally not commoners such as these people. Although it was good pay.... She kept getting inturupted, but finnaly spoke her name,
"Julia Dulin."
She said as she glanced at the children finally relaxing. She stretched to shake the woman's hand and while doing so she added,
"Well this big boy, is the Red Baron."
And right on que the big brown horse rose his head and walked confidently over to Julia. He could understand that she was introduceing him, so why not make an enterance? Julia noticed this and rolled her eyes back to the woman, smiling kindly.
"We've got pleny of horses that are kid friendly. Baron's a bit of a hassle sometimes, I don't exactly think he's very suitable to ride at this momment."
The horse snorted loudly and stomped a foot before trotting off.
Oh cool it, Baron.
She scolded the horse as all she got was the flick of his tail as his hind-quarters were faceing them.
"And... your name, Miss?"
Julia asked kindly, as she glanced off at the obviously offended horse.
[ugh sorry its so jumbled =/ that was hard to reply to with everything going on.]

[yeahhh...sorry we raped your topic]
Marielle smiled, "Marielle Venom. Nice to meet you Julia. And allthough the Red Baron is indeed very beautiful...he's too large. I've no doubt my daughter could handle him but Lauret is a little fragile...and afraid of heights." she beamed, happyness emitting from every pore. She was the sort of person who made people happy to be around her. "I was hoping you'd have a more gentle horse... For riding lessons, at least. I looked around for somewhere else that might offer training but this seemed to be the best place. I've done the Queen a few favours and she graciously allowed us to come and ask. If it's too much trouble don't worry about it, we'll find somewhere else."
As she spoke she glanced towards the spot where here children were laying and then back at Julia again. She was rather protective of them, having gone to hell and back to keep them alive to this age. "So if you've got a smaller horse...gentle, maybe..." she trailed off, looking a little doubtful. Marielle didn't really know a lot about horses, but Myst had /insisted/ their children learn how to ride, and of course Clarette had taken up the idea right away.

Julia looked to the woman who seemed a bit destressed. Mrs. Venom was a bit older than her, but still seemed to lack in her equine intellegence. But no matter. She seemed to gain acceptance from the queen, and that was perfectly fine. She nodded as she started to take off her working gloves and spoke,
"Yes, yes, of course I understand."
She gave a friendly smile and turned to the pasture. She put two fingers to her mouth and whistled a long sharp whistle.
"Ponies!"
She called with another whistle and waited. About awhile away there was a croud of feasting horses, most horses, some ponies. There wasn't much of a real diffrence of horses and ponies. Ponies were just a bit smaller as horses were a little bit bigger. Also, ponies were more gentle and stronger.
The croud of horses looked up from their grazing as Julia could read their thoughts as some groaned but still followed orders and started to trot foward.
The first to come up and explore was a tanish brown horse. He wasn't as nearly tall as Baron but was still claimed as a horse. He trotted to the gate, nudgeing Julia with his snout.
Wazzup? ,the horse snorted at her.
Julia iggnored him as two other horses came by.
One was a speckled pony, she had a pure white coat with brownish black spots. She walked calmly up to the gate, inspectijng the new woman. Next was a bay horse, he had a thick black mane and tail and seemed rather bored.
Julia frowned at some of the other horses in the pasture- but it was fine. These three would do. She turned to the woman and nodded,
"I'm sure your children will be safe with them."
She mused aloud as she took three halters with her, clasping them to the horses heads. She first led the first horse to come by, Bandit, he seemed happy to have attention as he was tied to the fence. Next was the white speckled horse, Dawn, she seemed a bit plump, but was very 'leader' like. It was obvious she was the lead mare. Finnaly was bay pony called Dodger. He was slim, but had stalky legs and a low head. He looked old, but had an passion for jumping.
"My three finest ponies. Bandit, Dawn, and Dodger."
Julia looked to the mother. Surely her children would be safe with them.

Marielle smiled hugely, "Oh they're perfect!! They're so precious!" she held her hand out for the three ponies to inspect and stroked Dawn's nose when she butted her hand curiously. "Simply magnificent!" Marielle gushed, laughing as Dawn lipped her finger. "Do you have lessons? I don't want them riding before they know how!" She laughed like a bell, and turned back towards Julia, "And how much will it cost? I-- I'm not poor, but I'm not Royalty either." she said with a quirky grin. Of course, she could always ask Selene for money, but allthough the woman was her best friend... she was a cuttrhoat business woman, and Marielle didn't like to involve debts between the two of them.
