Marie Clarette spread her legs too wide, kicking Lauret's horse hard in the side, following with her own. Both horses took off in a panicky state. Marielle shrieked and held onto the saddle for dear life, her face going pale with fear as Dawn ran, and then bucked when she stepped on a sharp stone. The girl screamed and stupidly let go of the saddle, toppling over. She hit her head with a sickening thud on the floor, and the horse proceeded to step on her hand. Marie Clarette didn't react, her empty eyes gazed into the distance.
Marielle had sensed the danger soon as they'd both positioned themselves side by side and she saw Clarette kick out with her foot. She reacted swiftly when both horses bolted, jumped the corral, opened the gate and grabbed the red baron, "Allez, allez!" she snapped at him, playing the role of dominant female. She jumped on the horse's bare back, and galloped him out of the stable, feeling her stomach drop to her toes when she saw Marie Clarette fall to the ground and not get up. Damn, not again! "Allez!!" she said, and the horse quickly got to where Dawn was still bucking. Marielle jumped off the horse, skidded, and ran towards her lifeless daughter.
She ripped her gloves off and sunk into the darkness of her mind. She could still see, though. Everything around her was coloured with a weird sort of light. the light of life. Marie Clarette's had gone out. Marielle looked around for it, and saw it by the edge of the river, hesitating...wondering if it should cross over. Marie! Come back here! she demanded of her child. The girl looked at the river and then at her mother again. Maman, what is on the other side? she asked like she always did every time she had died. Her mother replied with the same answer she always did, It is not your time to know that, Clarette. The girl nodded and held her mothers hand until they got back to her body.
Marielle opened her eyes to the sound of Marie screaming bloody murder. her hand was oozing with blood and seemed to be slightly deformed from being stepped on. "Shh shh shh!" Marielle said, looking up to find Lauret. He was riding like a pro. Like she had rode the red baron. "LAURET! GET OFF THAT HORSE THIS INSTANT!" She bellowed.

Lauret took notice of everything, nodding as the woman put his sisters feet in the stirrups and looking as his horse sniffed his leg. He smiled apologetically for ever having to sit on the poor horse and turned back to the woman who was now holding the horses and telling them more to do. Lauret looked at his feet, making sure he was secure and then lightly tapping the horse's flanks, legs squeezing for what he imagined was dear life. The horse probably didn't even feel him though, his light body on all that animal's muscle. He waited, nothing happening and grimaced as he figured he'd have to nudge a bit harder if he wanted to go anywhere. not that he wanted to go anywhere.
His heels nudged the horse's sides again, firmly this time as he straightened, trying his best not to feint or cry or something horribly embarrassing. The horse seemed to nod, stepping forward elegantly for what looked like an older horse. Lauret held his breath, pulling back on the reins and testing, not out, but back. He discovered how to signal 'STOP' and sighed, relieved. He felt that was enough of a lesson for today, but Lauret was not one to complain, no matter how much he disliked or was afraid of something.
He had little time to feel proud of anything as his sister's foot jabbed into his horse and the male jumped forward. Lauret yelled out in shocked surprise as him and his horse raced away. Lauret was too stunned to say anything, holding onto the reins and standing in the stirrups as he felt the wind blow by him. They were going so fast! His fear gripped him, the horse leaping and everything seeming to slow down as Lauret felt himself flying on the horse's back. He was sure this was the end. He wouldn't live, this was going to be his dath, the last few moments of his exsistence. Thats when he felt a sharp snap in his mind. Marie was dead...again. Damn her foolishness! Why'd she have to do all this?! His fear was wanning and after his thoughts he noticed the cool feel of wind. The jolt of landing was cushioned by his legs and he held on, breathing again even though he didn't notice holding his breath.
This wasn't so bad. He rode the traumatized horse, leaping again and ready for the feel of shock in his knees as a smile struggled to life on his face. He laughed. An actual laugh, the horse feeling a part of him as he rode it around, following the fence and laughing again as he realized how awesome this all was. Marie was regaining consciousness and he heard his mother calling out to him. He remembered, pulling the reins back slowly, the horse rumbling to a trot, then a walk. Lauret patted the horse, telling it good things. That this had been the most incredible thing in his life. He rode back to his mother, smiling and laughing as he suddenly tilted sideways, falling off the horse and hitting the ground. He was dazed, looking around before bursting out laughing again.
"MAMA! THAT WAS EXCELLENT!!!"

Julia had never seen anything like it. Things happened in a slow motion, that you wished you could speed up and stop it in the process. But of course... she couldn't do that. The horses had gripped away from her clasp and bolted. After a few strides of the gallop the girl fell first. It was an stuble buck- but just enough to fling the girl off. Dawn gave a few extra bucks of fustration. Julia also sprinted toward the girl- as the mother was even faster. Julia was suprized that the Red Baron was even willing to coopoperate. She gasped as the girl seemed dead. Her eyes darted to another picture. The boy was still on. This time- he was jumping the fences. Dodger was a old hunter pony, an especially good jumper. And the boy still stayed on. Amazing. She took her place as the boy fell too to gather the ponies.
PONIES!
She screamed at them, as she ran to Dawn and grabbed her reigns before she got to hurt somebody. She gathered a more calm, but excited Dodger as she tied them to the fences.
She jogged over and grabbed the boy, setting him on his feet. What a disaster! She checked the boy for any major cuts or harm to him, but nothing. Though the girl on the other hand was bleeding. She jogged over to the girl and kneeled down by her,
"Oh! Miss Venom I'm so sorry about this! Here, bring her to the barn, I can give her a temporary wrap for her hand."
She took the girl in her arms carefully, as she heaved the girl up, standing. She carried the girl to the barn, as she carefully looked at the girls hand. Oh boy....
[poor julia this is not her day....]

Lauret sat up, feeling new hands on him as he was helped up and patted off. Dust came off him and he smiled, unable to get the grin off his face as they started back on his sister. Her hand was broken, bleeding, he felt her pain, the mental screaming. He tried to hide his smile, still coming down off the riding high he'd gotten into. His mother was freaking and the woman, Julia, was offering to wrap his sister's hand. He wandered off, doing one of his 'unoticed' tricks again and slipping back to the horse. He patted the ponie's side, rubbing him and whispering to him, eyes flicking back to his mother and the group of girls, one his screaming pain filled sister.
"S'not you're fault... She's a bit rash...a lot rash... but that was...brilliant... I think horses must have been the most beautiful thing ever created..."
Lauret smiled peacefully, not caring if the horses could understand him. He petted Dawn too, appologizing again for his sister, happy blue eyes looking over at the three females. He had just found his element.

((haha, this is a regular run of the mill day for Marielle))
Marielle marched over to where Lauret was, and grabbed his ear, pulling him away from the animal forcefully, "We are going. NOW." she said, and when he started to struggle against the ear tugg she picked him up from the waist and threw him over her back like a potato sack, ignoring his protests. "This is unkind, Lauret. Marie just fell off her horse, and her hand was broken and she died--!" she stopped to tighten her grip on Lauret, who doing his best to go back to the horses. "ENOUGH!" she roared at the boy, shaking him a little as she walked into the barn.
The coolness suprised her and she smiled at Julia as she put Lauret down, "Stay here. If you put one foot outside--" she let him imagine what sort of punishment she could concoct for him. Marielle felt relieved to see her daughter on the couch, alive, sobbing at how her head pounded, and every once in awhile screaming when her hand twitched. "Shh shh shh, moi petite chat." she murmured, stroking her forehead, and taking a look at her hand, "Oh, sweety. That horse really stepped on you, didn't she?" she asked, inspecting the swollen purple and black bruised hand that belonged to Clarette.
Clarette cried loudly, blocking her mind from Lauret's infectious happyness. Stupid boy! She was in pain, and he was ignoring her! "Maman, I don't like horses!" she whined, screaming when the woman accidentally nudged her hand. "Sorry! Sorry!" Marielle apollogized quickly, "We'll get you some ice."
She got up and asked Julia where the ice was with her eyes. As soon as they were both away from the children she put her face in her hands, "I am SO sorry to have caused so much trouble! It seems every where Marie Clarette goes, disaster follows! Are you allright? Do you need to sit down? These things are ordinary for our family, you don't have to worry." she told her, feeling terrible for the woman.
Meanwhile, as soon as the two adults had left the room, Clarette had stopped crying, and glared at her brother, "What are you looking so /smug/ about?" she spat at him, wincing when she felt her hand twinge and biting her lip to keep from crying out.

Julia had worked on wrapping the hand- winceing at every scream the girl made. This was a total disaster. The woman probably thought that these horses were terrible and and!! The woman and her walked out of the room and the woman spoke. Oh gosh, she felt bad for the woman for having to do this almost every day.
"Oh, I'm--I'm fine. My horses usually don't disobay me, no matter what...."
She moved over to a little fridge where she kept drinks and whanot as she grabbed some icecubes placing them in a towl. As she did that she spoke hesitantly,
"Mrs. Venom... I noticed... I noticed your little boy, Laurent, had quite and experience with the horses. He's acually very..very good for a begininer. I don't want to pressure you Mrs. Venom, but I would love to give him more lessons-- If he'd like. And...and I'm sure we could work something out if Miss Clarette still wants to attempt to ride...."
By this time she had turned, facing the woman carefully as she hoped the woman wouldn't get mad at her for suggesting such an idea.

"My daughter is like a cat...she likes to think she has nine lives." The hint of a shadow crossed Marielle's face her smile wavered, but she got over it quickly. She listened to the offer quietly and looked around the room nervously, as if hoping it had some answers to offer her. "I-- I'm not sure I want them to try it again--" She sighed, rubbing her eyes. The image of Marie Clarette falling off her horse and not getting up would haunt her sleep tonight. The echo of Lauret's happy laughter brought her back to her senses, "We shall see...I can't promise anything..." she trailed off, her pretty face drawn tight.
She didn't tell anybody, but the only reason her hair had no white in it was because she dyed it. Clarette gave her enough white hairs every day it was surprising that her whole head wasn't white. She sighed, taking the icecubes from Julia, "I used to be able to ride...when I was very young. I suppose he takes after me, in that respect." She had secretly hoped that both her children would hate the sport, for fear they would fall off like today.
"No, no...I am being silly...Of course he can come back. I saw how happy he was...I'm not sure Clarette will come back...she might, just to prove that she can ride just as well as her brother." Marielle gave Julia a quirky smile, trying to hid the fact that her hands were still shaking. "Could-- Could I get a glass of water? I feel a little tired." she begged with a tiny smile. It was an understatement. Marielle felt like she would fall to the ground right then and there-- but she didn't want to cause the host any more trouble than she allready had.

Julia nodded, feeling a hesitant presence toward the woman. She seemed concerned just as any mother would. I mean her daughter just died! Scary. She was a bit dazzed by the thougth that the girl had come back to life. She nodded giving a grin as she understood. She then blinked as she nodded gently,
"Yes, yes I think I'll have one too."
She gave a slight laugh then turned and brought out two cold bottles of watter handing one to Mrs. Venom. She walked out of the area, leading back to the children as she spoke,
"Well, thank you for coming anyways Mrs. Venom. I'm sorry this turned out ot be such a disaster."
She turned to the children giving a sympathetic smile at the girl then the boy,
"Sorry for a little mishap today, kids. Get well soon. Hopefully I'll see you soon. "
She really hoped. That boy had a talent. She could tell. She helped the girl on her own feet, before turning back to the pasture, nodding to the woman and children goodbye. She then took off back to where the ponies were tied, starting to untie them.

((OMG Lauret has to post one more time before it DIES!!! T^T ^_^))
Lauret tripped inside, sitting and smiling rebelliously as he stared out the door at the horses in the pasture. they all looked so peacefull. He knew he loved all of them right now. He blocked out his sister's agony, but as the adults left he couldn't keep from hearing her voice. He turned slowly, only half of his face turning towards hers as he smiled a little. He made a little smug look, something he rarely did, but he felt so happy and alive right now.
"I tooooold you so0o0o0o0o0o..."
He grinned, laughing silently and turning back around, confident she wouldn't attack him with a broken hand. She may try but he doubted it. She'd just bristle like a cat. He stared out at the horses, his Mom and Julia coming back in. He smiled at them, bemaing at Julia and then to his mother, instantly bombarding them with questions. This was so unlike him!
"Mama! Are we coming back? We can come back right? I can keep riding the horses? Can I get my own horse, Mama? Please? Do you think Papa would let me have a horse? Can I? Can I? Please? One that jumps! Can I keep riding Dodger? Can I Miss Julia? He's the best horse in the world! This must have been the best day of my life! We can come back, can't we Mama?"
He looked so cute and excited, eyes gleaming and twinkling with expectations and hope. He was never so open. You could tell this really might have been the best day of his life.
((Oops, dad asked me to open something up in the middle of writting this so he could show his friends some pictures and dad tried to rush me he was like "The picture on the right! the right! The comet!" cause he took pictures of a comet. I just snapped, totally exploded at him and ran away to my room. I slammed my door real hard...broke my door. the door got stuck too, mom had to rescue me from being trapped in my room ._.))
