Nobody had spoke in the car on the way home. The male drove the car the woman slunk back into the passenger's seat, just wanting to dissapear. The air was sick with regret. The man's eyes narrowed on the road. Silence.
The car drove around to the house, parking. Mark didn't say a word, he tensely opened the door getting out. The woman looked over at him, not knowing what to feel. Had this been her fault? She opened the door as she saw her husband walk away to the house. He then dissapeared behind the door.
Julia sighed and got out of the car. He needed his space. Mark, that is. The woman sighed and walked to the stables. She looked for something to do, but everything was clean... She walked over to the pasture watching her horses graze happily. Some looked at her with confusion, but she said nothing. That wasn't just a rival that Mark spoke about. It was a death toll. That man wanted to kill Mark.
Valerius that is. She felt stupid for not making the connection before... She closed her eyes, seeing the man go to strike Mark. Thank god she had stepped infront of him. Even though she felt a slight risk at her own life-- she would never let anyone touch Mark. She didn't know what to think. Val...he had been so kind and nice at the feild. But he seemed like a monster. She shuddered turning away to walk back towards the house.
She entered silently looking over to the counter. Mark stood beside it, his head in his hands. He was thinking, his hands lowered letting his eyes show. Those dark eyes looked so confused...but so full. Mark raised straight looking at Julia carefully.
"How did he know your name?"
And why the f.uck did he act so nice? He stared at her critically. Perhaps there was something going on...between... No-- Julia would...never... Julia spoke up having the same feeling as him,
"We met not too long ago. I didn't...think...it was him."
Mark raised a brow. What did that mean? He relaxed knowing that this wasn't her fault. She acually stopped the fight. He grinded his teeth carefully,
"I could have taken him."
He looked to Julia as she looked concerned, almost frightened. Julia folded her arms as if hugging herself away from it all. This was such a bad day. Everything had gone so...wrong... She walked over to Mark, leaning into him.
"I...didn't want you to get hurt."
She said softly, looing up to him with swimming eyes. Mark wrapped his arms around her lovingly as he looked down at her when she spoke. He smiled lightly, leanding down and kissing her on the forehead,
"I know."
Mark let it go. He could have showed Valerius what became of him in the last twleve years. He bet that he would have just as much power as the demon. But still, he hugged Julia, and finally he felt a weight off of him. Sophie knew him. She knew who he was. She might not like him one bit-- but she knew. That was all he wanted.
