The sun wasn't much at it's peak anymore, although it was afternoon. It was partly cloudy, the sun finding spots to shed its glory to the earth. All the horses had been set out to the pasture and there stood a woman, a man then coming up behind her. They stood by the fence fo the pasture, tired from a good day's work. The man had his work clothes on, a unbuttoned, blue shirt that was wravled up to his elbows. There were slight black grease stains on the shirt, as well as black along his forearms. The woman wore a tee-shirt with jeans, halfchaps and riding boots.
"Hey, whats up..?"
Spoke the man in a husked voice, in need of some water. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer playfully. The woman smiled slyly hugging him as she looked up to that pleasent face of her husband.
"Hey you. I'm just...tired..."
She snuggled gently against him, looking out to see some of the horses walk away- not liking the dark energy coming off the man. They looked off into the distance of the pasture, just relaxing for a momment.
A little away out of earshot pulled up a thick black truck. Its clean, sleek exteirior shining in the sun. Hm. Stables in the castle ground. The demon drove around seeing the home behind the stable. He parked a little away frorm the graveled driveway. He looked into the rear-view running his fingers though his black hair. Okay Val. Just gotta keep you cool. Keep your cool. Just here to talk. No fighting. No fighting. For Necro and Sophie's sake. The man stepped out of the car, immediatly srunching his nose. Jesus, what a smell. He closed the door with a grunt. He noticed nobody in the house and took a little trip around the place. He walked though the empty stables, finding no one. He blinked once hearing something.
Julia giggled as she felt Mark pull her closer to him, kissing her neck feverishly. He was such a womanizer sometimes. She loved him though, no matter what. His hands wrapped around her waist as he whispered little cute things into her ear making her giggle. Oh well it wasn't like anyone was going to see them. Mark slyly growled into her ear playfully before hesitating. He felt a presence close..too close... too late...
Valerius was only but a few meter's away from them. His arms were folded tightly, watching the cute but in some way disturbing scene. Geeze, in broad daylight. He coughed rather loud intentionally to get their attention.
Mark looked over his shoulder, his eyes instantly slit. Valerius. He knew it was that stupid demon's presence. Julia gasped silently, blushing violently seeing that Val had been watching them. Mark growled aloud, becoming tense, stepping infront of Julia. Demon coming on his propery wanting to pick a fight, eh?
Valerius saw the defensive state of Mark and he merely held himself back. He stood not in a defensive state, even if he was a bit taller than Mark. He eye'd the man critically wanting to yell something like 'you sick traitor'-- or something along those lines.
"Sorry for the interuption."
He said merely, looking to see Julia looking over Marks shoulder. She wasn't much fond of Valerius anymore-- he had been so mean back there-- to Mark. But he was nice to her...even if he wanted to kill her husband. She felt frightened wondering what he wanted. Mark frowned spiting harsh words,
"Look if you came here to fight--"
Valerius let his eyes close for a second, exhaling then cutting the man off. He spoke kindly, it not friendly towards him,
"--No... no...I just want to talk."
Mark relaxed slightly, still cautious. He had slight confusion struck on his face. Julia looked over Marks shoulder, her eyes landing up at Valerius. Valerius looked down at her smiling brightly,
"Hello Julia. You don't mind if I take Mark for a little bit. Then you can get back to...well... And don't worry, I'll be on my best behavior."
Valerius grinned playfully, telling her he was going to be civil and just chat. Julia blushed a scarlet sreak and she nodded giving him a greeting,
"It's not my decision."
She stated blankly, looking up to see Marks eyes look deeply into Valerius'. What did he want...? Mark hesitated then looked down at Julia.
"I'll be back."
He departed from her, leaving her stand there as Mark stepped foward. Valerius nodded with a sly grin, motioning his head to the side, signaling for them to take a walk. Val turned around starting to walk the other way. Mark followed soon catching up with Valerius with Julia stand there, stareing before she hesitantly waited in the stables.
The air was thick with hesitantion and tension. The men were almost the same size, but as always Valerius matched him out in height. Valerius kept his arms tightly folded, Mark shoveing his in his pockets. They walked onward, their eyes faceing fowards. Valerius noted Marks dark energy. It was strong. Really strong. After a few momments of silence Mark spoke gruffly,
"You wanted to talk?"
Mark implyed for him to get on with it already. Valerius shot him a look hastely,
"I'm thinking."
Valerius wanted to see what Mark would do in such silence. He had so many questions to ask Mark, and he had so many remarks he wanted to yell while he choked the man. Mark frowned hesitating then speaking,
"Hows...Necro?"
Valerius hesitated, Mark could see it, noteing his weak spot. Necro loved Valerius-- as well as Valerius loved Necro. He was nowhere in the picture. He'd made that decision a long time ago. Valerius knew Mark didn't know about how he had left...
"She's a bit worn out from everything."
Valerius said plainly, almost trying to hide the greif in his voice. Mark eye'd him out of the courner of his eye. Valerius hadn't changed much. He'd got slightly older, but with such a small body mass (besides the fact that he was pretty big) he probably wouldn't age as fast as most people. But Valerius was still Valerius... his..old..old buddy. He nodded looking somewhere else,
"Yeah... I bet..."
He trailed off, hesistaiting to say something else. Valerius glanced at him, inspecting him. Mark had grown alot. Twelve years pass by quick. The kid wasn't really a boy anymore. He had grown slightly taller, muscular, hey he even had a beard mustashe thing going on. The bigger demon raised a brow waiting before Mark broke the ice,
"Yaknow, Valerius, I just wanted her to know who I am. Sophie, that is."
Valerius saw Mark look away, unaware that Valerius was giving him an unusual look. Valerius hesitated,
"Yeah... I know. I kinda freaked when I saw you... Sorry about that..."
Mark blinked, woah woah, Valerius apologizing to...to him?! He thought the demon wanted to rip out his throat for good. Mark had been caught off guard and Valerius spoke up, explaining himself,
"Well, I mean, I am kinda ticked that you just come in out of nowhere especially after you...left."
Mark hesitated, feeling the subject get deep. How he had left back in highschool, he became tense, his eyes turning and acually meeting Valerius'.
"That was back in highschool. I didn't know what I wanted back then... Valerius, I don't want to take your position as a father but..."
Valerius nodded eyeing him before looking foward and cutting him off,
"-- I understand. And yaknow what... I want you to be in Sophies life."
Mark almost choked on air as Valerius snickered gently. Muahah, wasn't expecting that now- was he?
Mark nearly stumbled and choked at the same time. Wha...wha...SAY WHAT? He stared rather confused at the demon who was snickering at his reaction.
"Really?"
Valerius nodded friendly giving a shrug,
"Mmhm. I know she loves me enough to not have any doubts about me as her father. Anyways I don't see why I have to hold grudges... It was so long ago anyways."
Mark blinked trying to concentrate. Was...Valerius trying to be...be friends again? Mark stopped walking, looking at Valerius. Val looked back, and stopped watching Mark with a smile. The smaller demon stared rather confused at Valerius.
Valerius cracked a laugh and approached Mark.
"Come're kid."
He put his arms around the man in a manly like hug. Mark gasped silently as he felt squeezed by the hug. Huh...huh...? He was slightly on his tip-toes before Valerius dropped him, letting him go with a grin. Aww.
Mark pulled up a weak smile, inwardly feeling relived. He felt washed away of all his grudges with Valerius. It was like they were buddies again. The two turned around and starte to walk back to the stables not too long before it clicked to Mark and he growled playfully,
"Wait...'kid'? Excuse me, do you not see this?!"
Mark pointed to his beard. Valerius snickered as Mark growled,
"Old geezer."
Valerius slit his eyes playfully growling as Mark laughed. Muahah.
The friends were back.
