He looked up. And down. And up again. But no matter how he figured it, there was only one shortcut off the path. The trees were so dense, he couldn't fit through them off the trail with all his stuff. It wound down and around to a small, hopeful clearing, but the trek to it would be, well, a waste of time.
Bobby glanced down the shortcut. It was a thin stream of rocks down the hillside, a few roots and bare dirt. All he would have to do was climb down carefully, and he would be at the clearing with enough time to start a fire and set up camp. He blinked and smiled a bit micheviously, re-adjusting his pack on his shoulders and starting down.
He brought every placement of his foot carefully, his right going between those rocks, his left on that root, etc. But about a third of the way down he used a loose rock as a foothold. It fell away and he tripped, going mid-air, his destination set for a large pointed rock sticking up out of the ground. His long braids spun wildly in the air, suddenly blocking his vision.
His body seemed to warp inward and every part of him flexed, changed. His arms spun tightly, his nose and mouth morphing into one, until, bam! A full fledged pheonix, with a six-ft wingspan. His colors were red, roange, yellows blurred together with a tail blazing with fire. Bobby swooped just above the rock, nearly missing a certainly severe injury. He soared above the treeline and then dove down, shifting back into his human form just before touching the ground. Wings replaced for arms, feathers for skin, until he stood in his clothes (for they stayed with his human self) on the grass.
A little ways away on the shortcut, his pack was going up in flames.
"S***," He muttered, punching the tree next to him only to find the bark cut into his skin. He cursed again and stuck it in his mouth, then spit out a woodchip. Well, there went all his supplies. At least he had the Pop-A-Tent in his pocket, but otherwise, he was royally screwed.

[Woo! Music note! =D Lala, haven't played Taylor in awhile. This'll be fun xD]
Long ribbons of blond silk hair flew like a banner behind her sleek moving form. The slim figure impossibly moved though the trees evenso that the untrained eye wouldn't see anything. The thick forest was full of decomposing leaves as well as thick trees with fresh, crisp leaves hanging in the shaded sunlight. The air was clean, much cleaner than by the town. The figure of a woman glided though the forest, along the track of a small creek. Sure, her surroundings were plesant but frankly she wasn't here for the scenery.
And then adruptly she stopped. Everything turned still as it seemed the woman turned stone. Her hand clutched a tree branch almost about to snap it with her vice like grip. The girl was small, though slender and fulled out. Her hair had fallen to her side its long blond sleekness going down to her waist. With a statue like stance she listened. Not so far off, she heard little footsteps.
A doe. About 90 pounds. Darnit. Small, but it would be filling. Rolling her eyes she groaned inwardly and hesitated before darting off again. The doe was in sight. It was only a few meter's away that the poor animal even noitced. But it was too late. The small girl seemed to knock the animal down as if it'd just got hit by a car. A scream erupted from the animal, but it was droned down by the unforgiving snarls of the woman. You wouldn't belive your sences if you heard such a beastly sound come from such a person. Blood splattered the tree next to the fight as the woman easily dominated by snapping the doe's neck. All became scilent but the gentle breathing of the woman. After a few seconds of checking the scene the woman endulged in her meal.
After three minutes flat the woman popped up. Her body didn't even have a drop of blood on it, even though she had been slightly messy. She stood lazily a perfect manicured hand on her hip. Deer were so...tasteless. The girl looked around sixteen, although she looked like a teen model on a Sixteen or CosmoGirl magazine. She tossed her beautiful long hair over her shoulder, sighing. Zimri was off somewhere, and she had no source for blood. Stupid Zimri. She had made a last resort to come to the woods.
Her thoughts were blanked out as even the slightest whisper came into her ears. Male. Obviously human because he'd spoken. Probably was fustrated because he'd cursed. She cocked her head to the side and walked casually toward the sound a mischivious look on her face.
[buahah i love her XD]

Bobby kept his cool, demanding himself to calm down. He shut his eyes tightly and opened them, walking a few paces around the clearing, his hands knotted tightly behind his back. He tried to rationalize his position. Well, he had a tent. He would have to forage for food, probably transform into a unicorn and eat leaves or something logical like that. A fire would not be hard to start without flint or a match, seeing as what he did to his pack with the pheonix.
Okay, so not all was lost.
He carefully examined the ground, slowly walking the perimeter of the clearing for the most solid part of earth to pitch the tent. He ran his fingers down on of his braids, deciding on the place and then looking up at tree cover. But something caught his eye, half-way between the ground and canopy. A...woman? His pale green eyes narrowed towards the figure. Tall, pale, blonde and undoubtedly the most beautiful thing he had ever set eyes on.
After a second or two he shook his head, immediatly looking at the situation and planning his defense as lone travelers often do. He was in the middle of nowhere, and beautiful woman did not belong there. She was either a spirit, a nypmh, a vampire or a witch, all set on using his mind or soul or somepart of him to their benefit. After all, how much fight could a simple human like him put up?
"Hello there," Bobby called, suddenly feeling superior with the tattoos on his right arm, like he could be as daring as he wished. "You lost or something?"

The girl inspected the male accordingly. He didn't look a day over twenty, although he did have a sort of tattoo's along his right arm. Ooh, tattoos. She gave a smug smile standing there casually as if he couldn't see her at all. Of course he could, but she waited until he noticed her. And then of course, his human eyes noticed her. He seemed to tense almost, the girl could sense it. She stood there, dead silent.
He didn't look much like a gifted. No animal parts, no weird deformations, he looked like, well, a human. His blood wasn't flowing much like a humans consistancy. Hm. Interesting. Her eyes sparkled in the sun, and finally he spoke. Her body seemed to relax into place as she released a smile. Friendly traveler. She walked casually foward giving a slight giggle as he asked if she was lost. She looked him up and down with a natual reaction and spoke,
"Uh, sorry, but if anybody is lost around here-- its you."
She gave a friendly smile, her eyes flickering around him. No pack. No nothing. What...was he doing out here?

Bobby took a small step backward. Though it was a look of giving into intimidation, he was only defending his position. He frowned slightly, risking a sweeping glance over the clearing. "Don't flatter yourself, miss," He said, clearing his throat and looking directly at her. However that was hard, seeing as the sight of her made him twinge. She was just too freaking...stunning. "I'm not lost. If one doesn't have a destination than, pray, how can they be lost?" His voice trailed off a bit in the end, wondering if he had revealed too much. If she was, you know, some kind of inhuman, maybe it wasn't best to tell her that no one was awaiting his arrival in any certain place?
"And if you're not lost, mind my asking, what is the business of a woman in the middle of the woods? Casting spells, are we? Hunting?" His eyes flashed. As a child his mother had read him the Book of Species, listing the many different, er...beings in Lordight. Maybe she was preparing him for an encounter like this. With a vampire. Or was she...a werewolf? He could never tell the two apart. Folk legend and all that from the village listed them with a thousand different antics and characteristics.

Oh it was oh-so-flattering to see the man twitch at the sight of her. At times it was annoying, but now she loved the attention. Its just the way her vampire greedyness liked it. But then again, he wasn't exactly friendly. She gave a small frown and pout as he said not to flatter herself. But she perked back up as spoke again with some witty little remark on how he had no desitnation. Well that wasn't very smart. Hmm. She took another step foward giving a smile before he spoke again. Her brillinant long hair waved lightly behind her, her pale but fair skin putting of a shining stunt in the sun.
Her slim eyebrow c.ocked as he asked what she was doing. Casting..spells? She cracked a grin giving a little laugh before she stopped as he asked if she was hunting. She gave a sly look, folding her arms and looking at him curiously. OOh. He was good. She glanced to the side before her blue eyes looked back at him slyly.
"Mhhmm. It really does ruin your day when you loose your blood connection and you have to drag yourself to the forest and hunt the old fashion way. It gets old after awhile."
She made innoecent chat about a not so innocent subject. Okay. The vampire looked at him dead in the eye, her teeth glittering.
[muhaha shes so ebil]

He bit his lower lip, one eyebrow raised as if he was interested in the conversation. "Hmmm. Right," Bobby said, slowly nodding. He crossed his arms over his chest and swallowed, realizing his throat felt dry. A breeze picked up and stirred the long braids on the left side of his head. "So is it safe to assume that you're, ah...not thirsty anymore?" He asked, his eyes flashing at the question. There was no reason she would be talking to him if she weren't right? After all, he knew human blood was more savory that the blood of any animal, so...an idea blossomed in his head. If this vampiress decided she needed an extra snack, she would be in for a big surprise.
[xD No muse]

Taylor looked carefully at the boy rather then looking at him like he was a snack. She was slightly satisfied with what she had now, even if he was tempting. But years of experience packed on her droned down the instinct to attack. She eye'd the braieds on his head, giving an odd look. Weird hair. She nudged it off and noticed his uncomfortableness. It was a given with most humans. She gave a slight laugh with a friendly grin nodding gently.
"Yeah don't worry about me, I'm fine. But you still look lost. Whats your name, lost traveler?"
She said playfully, her eyes glanceing around him. He was alone. No animal in sight although there was a rather faint smell of some type of bird in the air. Hmm. Odd.

He laughed uneasily. His name was so...unfitting. For a guy of about ninteen, pretty lean and muscular and decked out in tattoos on his right arm, well, Bobby was a rather immature name. But then again, Bob was just plain overused and Robert sounded too old. Of course his father, his good-for-nothing idiot father had named him Robert, a name that didn't sound good no matter which way you shape it. So his mother called him Bobby and it just sort of stuck.
He cleared his throat and held out his hand, "Bobby. Yours?" He glanced down at it, and then up again towards her. "Sorry," He said, brushing his hand against his shirt as though it was contaminated. He knew that vampires had some phobia of touching humans, maybe it was the pulse? "And I'm not lost, I thought we already examined that," He smiled. He was beginning to let his defense down, seeing as he was almost sure she wasn't going to attack him.

Taylor's blue eyes sparkled having some contact with the sun. It was so bright outside, although under the tree's was cooling and relaxing. The sun was a bit irritating sometimes, but vampires wouldn't melt from it. How stupid. She gave a wide smile as he said 'Bobby'. Aw, how--!! Plain. He didn't seem like a Bobby. He needed a nickname. She'd think of one later. She looked at his hand for a momment, smirking, and he put it away. Gah, she could have shook his hand. He wasn't that irresistable. She flipped her hair and smiled with a slyness as he reminded her that he wasn't lost.
"Okay then, Bobby, where are you off to? Your not one of those ranger guys, are you? Heh, sorry if you are...but...you don't really look like the type. Oh, and I'm Taylor."
She smiled brightly as if her name was in lights on some broadway show. She was just that great.
[xDD hah ranger boy]

[Did you see the picture I found of him on his app.?]
Bobby loosened. This woman didn't seem very threatening at all, not like he'd first marked her. In fact, he was beginning to feel a sort of comfort in conversation, seeing as he had been alone these past few weeks. It was good to have someone to talk to. "Off to nowhere in particular," He said as though it were actually a place, "got in some trouble back home, and since I'm of age mum sent me off. Since then I've just been, you know, around." Bobby shrugged off how juvenile it all sounded; compared to the name, his excuse wasn't so bad.
He tried not to show off. He really did! But Taylor was just so stunning in every aspect--her hair, her smile, her eyes--that he couldn't help himself. His left hand very discreetly touched the tattoos on his right arm, as if he was thinking of something. "That's a pretty name, Taylor..." His voice trailed off as he looked at the ground. And then, as if suddenly coming up with some brilliant idea, his eyes shot up at her and his lips broke into a grin. "You don't want to see why I got in trouble, do you?" Boddy asked, his voice teasing as to play on her curiousity.

Taylor tilted her head to the side lightly like a little puppy. He was slightly odd looking and had a rather interesting personality, but that name did /not/ fit. She curled a amused smile at the little thought and nodded rather amused as he said he was off to nowhere. Oh, a traveler on his own road to a new advernture. As perfect as the story was, she really didn't fit in it. The prom queen coming to the travelers rescue (even if he didn't admit that he was lost) and falling in love. Muaha! She gave him a look as he said he go in trouble and she wondered exactly what he did. A long red painted fingernail tapped her thigh as a hand lay on her hip as it c.ocked out a little. She nodded with an amused smile,
"A rebel, eh?"
She joked with a smirk soon enough she saw him eye her. It wasn't like he was staring at her in horror like before, but more of an interested look. She rasied a brow as he mentioned her name. Yeah, it's almost more impressive than your name. She inwardly laughed as he complimented her boring name. Then he seemed to come to life. He brightly looked at her and slyly spoke about why he got in trouble. Taylor looked at him slyly and folded her arms talking slyly eyeing his really cool tattoos,
"Oh, well, I hope it's not too scary for me...but... sure, why not."
She teased back saying she hoped she wouldn't get scared. Seeing how she was a vampire...which was a pretty scary thought to most in itself.

An artful smile appeared on his face. He cracked his knuckles and took a few steps backward, then rolled his neck and shook out his hands. Like he needed much preparation; he could've transformed right then and there without even a warning, but, heck, a little showing off never hurt anyone, did it? His soft green eyes looked at her and he nodded once, before tapping into the power that his decorated arm symbolized.
His eyelids fluttered shut as he decided on which form would be most impressive, and it was undoubtedly the one that had caused him the trouble in the first place. Bobby took a small, silent breath inward and let something shift in his mind, something automatic, some instinct that he had practiced over and over and over and now it came naturally. His body seemed to spin inward and change as he stood, his skin stretching and growing scales, his arms coming slightly more outwards as he revamped into a reptillious creature, growing taller and taller, wings seperating from his back and then extending, until his vision was just over the treeline.
He was unquestionably marvelous. Large than a house, with scales the color of black emerald so that it was one or the other depending on how the light hit them. His eyes were an array of colors. His claws were deep black and dangerously pointed, his ears set on spikey angles, and a tail that could wipe out a tree with a single hit. His wings were sort of a dark translucent, veiny but only so in the sunlight, with spikey tips. He was, indeed, a dragon.
Seeing as he had morphed while standing, he loomed high above, nearly blocking out the sunlight. A low grumbling noise ran down his throat and he dropped his front limbs down on the earth, sending a small reprocussion through the ground. He extended his neck and his muzzle was inches away from Taylor, big, wide eyes blinking in a cuteness that only a monster could exhibit. His mouth pulled back into what could have been a smile, exposing a row of large, spikey teeth. Maybe he meant it to be threatening, maybe not. He didn't know how he felt about the whole ordeal. Heck, he'd never looked in a mirror while looking like this before; there wasn't one large enough.
"So?" He rumbled, then silently cursed himself. He couldn't speak, not English anyways, while being, well, mythical. It was sort of a let down to the whole awesome-transforming thing, especially when impressing beautiful women. Woman. Taylor. He blinked, his heavy eyelids opening and closing with much more effort than that of a human. There has to be someway to communicate? He thought. He'd never tried to talk before, seeing as only his mother had known about his gift and she'd only seen it once or twice before he left. And then he thought of it.
It was too cute and sappy, only futher adding to his supposed immaturity, but he couldn't come up with anything else. He took a little step forward. He dipped his head when he was close enough and caught her hand just below the ridge between his eyes, a simple, if not comfortable gesture.

[Okay, so basically he's crouched in front of Taylor and his neck is extended towards he 'cause he's not sure if she's scared or not but he doesn't want her to be, and he's nuzzling her hand which is about the size of half his eye xD]
